Media Center recorded the wrong show or channel
If you receive your TV signal through a set-top box, then Media Center might encounter an error when changing channels to begin
recording a show. The automatic behavior that some set-top boxes have affects Media Center's ability to control the set-top box. When
Media Center tunes to a channel that is not part of your TV service package, the set-top box might instead:
ï‚·
C hange to a default channel
ï‚·
Display an onscreen error
ï‚·
Remain on the last viewed channel
ï‚·
C hange to the closest viewable channel
In all cases, the set-top box performs a default action that Media Center cannot detect and causes Media C enter to get out of sync and
record the wrong channel.
Note In the case of an onscreen error, no further channel navigation for recording TV is possible until you take action with the
set-top box remote. The error might cause several incorrect recordings if you are away from your computer and unable to correct
the problem immediately.
To prevent Media Center from trying to access and record channels that you do not subscribe to, you should turn off the channels that
are not included in your television service package.
