DVD Operation
- Inserting and removing discs -
Caution:
! Do not touch the disc compartment while it is moving, and be careful not to pinch
your fingers.
! If the power fails while the compartment is open, wait until the power is restored.
! If the disc compartment is stopped with force, the unit will not function. If this
occurs, press the POWER button to enter the power stand-by mode and then turn
the unit on again.
! Do not insert two discs in one disc insertion slot.
! A disc with scratches or fingerprints may not play properly. Refer to "Care of discs
(page 62)" and clean the disc.
! Do not play the discs of special shapes (heart or octagon shaped) as they can be
ejected while rotating and cause injury.
! If you turn off the power with the disc compartment open, the compartment closes.

5 Insert a disc into the disc insertion slot and push it.
The disc compartment closes automatically.
Disc insertion angle differs depending on the installation direction.
1. Insert a disc into the slot with the label
toward you.
2. Push in the disc slightly (it enters auto-
matically).
3. The disc compartment closes and one
of the DISC 1 - DISC 5 buttons lights up
for the disc.
6 Repeat steps 3 - 5 to insert a disc into the DISC 2 - 5 slot.

Example: Removing a disc from DISC 1
1 Press the DISC 1 button.
The same operation can be performed by pressing the DISC SELECT button, and
then press the DISC 1 button on the remote control.
2 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button.
The same operation can be performed by pressing the button on the remote
control.
3 Remove the disc.
4 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to close the disc compartment.
The same operation can be performed by pressing the button on the remote
control.
To remove more discs, repeat step 1 - 4.
Notes:
! DVD discs cannot be removed in the resume
play mode. Press the STOP button and
then remove the disc.
! Do not touch the playback side.
! 3" (8 cm) discs are not supported.
1 Press a disc number select button (except for the disc in operation).
The same operation can be performed by pressing the DISC SELECT button and
then the disc number select button on the remote control.
2 Press the OPEN/CLOSE button.
The same operation can be performed by pressing the button on the remote
control.
3 Replace a disc.
