Emergency Alerts
Configure Emergency Alert Settings
1. Touch Emergency Alerts.
This device is designed to receive wireless emergency alerts
from the Commercial Mobile Aler
ting System (CMAS). If your
wireless provider has chosen to participate in CMAS, alerts
are available while in the provider's coverage area. If you
travel outside your provider's coverage area, wireless
emergency alerts may not be available. For more
information, please contact your wireless provider.
2. Touch
Menu Settings for these options:
•Alert types: Enable or disable alerts. Presidential alerts
cannot be disabled. Tap Emerge
ncy alert text messages
to receive test alerts.
• Emergency alert tone: Tap to hear a sample
emergency alert.
Emergency Alerts allows customers to receive
geographically-targeted messages. Alert
messages are
provided by the US Department of Homeland Security and
will alert users o f imminent threats to their safety within their
area. There is no charge for receiving an Emergency Alert
message.
•Vibrate: When enabled, your phone will vibrate for
emergency alerts.
• Alert reminder: Choose an interval for your phone to
remind you of an e
mergency alert, or choose
Off for no
reminders.
There are three types of Emergency Alerts:
• Speak alert message: When enabled, your phone
w
ill
use text-to-speech to re
ad out emergency alerts.
• Alerts issued by the President
• Alerts involving imminent threats to safety or life (Extreme
and Severe)
• AMBER Alerts (missing child alert)
Note: Presidential alerts cannot be disabled.
