#1 Rice cup is 1 cup? Or do I measure 1/2 twice to get 1 cup measurement ?

Yes. Use the cup it comes with. I usually cook at least 2- 3 cups for best results. If you put 2 cups of rice have the water level at line 2. Measure 3 cups, have water level at 3. Hope it helps!
