Chefman RJ07-45-SS-BLACK Questions and Answers

#1 Are there heating coils in tbe bottom of the fryer or foes the entire unit heat up for cooking?

It coils at the bottom attached to the temperature gauge and fryer. It heats up really quick and stays hot. The only thing i really don't like is the timer. You'll have to turn the timer on to turn the fryer on and you'll have to manually turn it off to shut down the fryer off unless you unplug the unit and you'll still have to turn the timer off. But other than those small details its a good fryer.

#2 Can shrimp, fish, fries etc be deep fried at the same time?

Yes. Don't overfill basket. But fish, shrimp, fries will have different cook times. That might be a problem.

#3 How long does it take to fry french fries?

If you’re using prepackaged, do as instructions say. If you’re making your own fries, I recommend setting temp at 375 and turning fries over several times to get the desired color. As long as the potatoes are floating, they are cooked through.

#4 How deep are the baskets? Or how deep do you fill the oil?

There is a line in the container where you put the oil in that tells you how much oil to put in it. The basket is good size and deep

#5 Does the deep fryer bounce back quickly on heat after food submersion?

Yes, actually quite quickly.

#6 Is the heating element directly in the oil? If so, is this safe from being fire hazard?

Yes. The heating element is directly in the oil. I do not think it is a safety hazard, but that it made it essential to use the basket ( to prevent direct contact with the food being fried with the heating element). I returned the machine because the programed temperature was consistently about 50 degrees less than the setting when measured with an accurate digital thermometer.
