General Safety
mWARNING! When using cordless yard tools, basic
safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the
risk of re, electric shock, and personal injury, including
the following:
Work Area Safety
1. Keep work area clean and well lit – Cluttered or dark
areas invite accidents.
2. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres,
such as in the presence of ammable liquids, gases
or dust – Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
3. Keep children and bystanders away while operating a
power tool – Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Electric Safety
1. Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify
the plug in any way – Do not use any adapter plugs with
earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodied plugs and
matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
2. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces
such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators
There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is
earthed or grounded.
3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions
Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of
electric shock.
4. Do not abuse the cord – Never use the cord for carrying,
pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away
from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or
entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
5. When operating a power tool outdoors, use an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use – Use of a cord
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
6. If operating a power tool in a damp location is
unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD)
protected supply – Use of an RCD reduces the risk of
electric shock.

Sun Joe 24V-10CS Questions and Answers

#1 Why Isn't my unit turning on?

The unit comes with a safety feature, where the unit will not turn on if the battery is not inserted correctly.

#2 My chain saw does not start and the chain does not move.

Check to see if the safety chain brake lever is engaged. To reset the chain brake, disconnect the tool from the mains and snap the chain brake lever backwards (towards the operator).

#3 The battery is charged but the unit isn't turning on.

Remove the battery from the unit and examine the prongs and connection on both the battery and the unit to make sure they aren't damaged. Damaged prongs can cause the unit not to start up due to a faulty connection.

#4 Is the battery fully charged?

Before using the unit be sure to charge the battery and ensure all 3 LED lights are turned on when pressing the battery indicator button.

#5 How do I limb a tree?

Limbing is the process of removing branches from a fallen tree.
- You should cut limbs one at a time. Remove the cut limbs from the work area often to help keep the work area clean and safe.
- Cut branches under tension from the bottom up to avoid binding the pole chain saw.
- Keep the tree between you and the pole chain saw while limbing. Cut from the side of the tree opposite the branch you are cutting.
