Black+Decker BHUC201B Questions and Answers

#1 Is this portable hearter electric?

Yes, it is 120 volt electric, however, it has limited capacity to heat and fan is pretty light for use in a garage. Needs to be used in a small space (ie under 150 sq ft). If you have a larger space you should only consider a 240 volt unit (which is what I ended up doing).

#2 Will it heat a garage? I have a one car garage. Would like to heat during winter in i work in it.

I tried it in a fully insulated attached garage with insulated walls, ceiling, and overhead door. It didn't work very well for me during the Wisconsin winters. It might be fine to heat a garage in a southern climate...

#3 How is it powered? Plugged into the wall?

I have it plugged into my surge protector in my office because of a plug shortage in the room.

#4 The description says that it has a 12-hour timer. Is that the longest it will run without having to reset it? I would prefer that it not have a timer.

It will run as long as the temperature is below the selected setting. Mine runs continuously when temperature is below 40 degrees in my garage.

#5 What style plug does it have?

I don't have this particular heater but I do have a Black and Decker upright revolving heater which has a regular 2 prong plug.

#6 If your dog backs into it will it burn him?

I'm sorry but I don't know as I didn't purchase this item. They must have mixed my name up with someone else.
