The blades are really very super sharp so spiralizing an apple is probably acceptable (though i have heard apple seeds are not good to ingest). Spiralizing an avocado does not sound like a worthwhile idea especially with the seed. This BELLA 14641 spiralizer was a great purchase and would highly recommend it.

I do not have a blade there on mine. Check. With the manufacturer if it's a new design to hold the food better or a manufacturing defect. You can clean that area with a skewer or thin nail and then rinse well or use a very small brush if you have one. I use the probe of a meat thermometer and then rinse under a strong faucet.

I cut my cabbage into quarters before using.
then place wax paper or or parchment paper under the unit and up both sides, connect 2 sides on top with a paper clip or hold with your fingers.
