Dust Extraction/Dust Container
The dust from materials such as lead paint, some types of
wood, minerals and metal can be harmful to human health.
Touching or breathing in this dust can trigger allergic reac-
tions and/or cause respiratory illnesses in the user or in
people in the near vicinity.
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are classified as
carcinogenic, especially in conjunction with wood treatment
additives (chromate, wood preservative). Materials contain-
ing asbestos may only be machined by specialists.
Use a dust extraction system that is suitable for the ma-
terial wherever possible.
Provide good ventilation at the workplace.
It is advisable to wear a P2 filter class breathing mask.
The regulations on the material being machined that apply in
the country of use must be observed.
u Avoid dust accumulation at the workplace. Dust can
easily ignite.
u Use the dust box only when working on concrete and
stone. Wood chips and plastic chips can easily lead to
clogging.
u Warning: Danger of fire! Do not work on any metallic
materials with the dust container mounted. Hot metal
chips can ignite parts of the dust container.
Please observe the following instructions to optimise your
use of the dust container:
Ensure that the dust container is placed flush against the
workpiece or wall. This also makes it easier to drill at a
right angle.
When you reach the required drilling depth, pull the drill
bit out of the drill hole first and then switch off the impact
drill.
The dust protection ring(15) can wear, especially when
working with large drill-bit diameters. Replace the dust
protection ring when worn/damaged.
Changing the Tool
Keyless Chuck (UniversalImpact 700, UniversalImpact
700 + Drill Assistant) (seefigureH)
u Press the spindle lock button(2) only when the ma-
chine is at a standstill.
The drill spindle is locked by pressing the spindle lock but-
ton(2). This makes it possible to change the application tool
in the drill chuck quickly, conveniently and easily.
Open the keyless chuck (1) by turning it in the direction of
rotation until the tool can be inserted. Insert the tool.
Firmly tighten the sleeve of the keyless chuck (1) by turning
it by hand in the rotational direction until it stops clicking.
This will automatically lock the drill chuck.
The lock will disengage again if you turn the sleeve in the op-
posite direction to remove the tool with the spindle locking
button pressed.
Keyless Chuck (UniversalImpact 800) (seefigureI)
The drill spindle is locked when the on/off switch (6) is not
pressed. This makes it possible to change the application
tool in the drill chuck quickly, conveniently and easily.
Open the keyless chuck (1) by turning it in the direction of
rotation until the tool can be inserted. Insert the tool.

posite direction to remove the tool.
Keyed Chuck (UniversalImpact 650) (seefigureJ)
u Press the spindle lock button(2) only when the ma-
chine is at a standstill.
The drill spindle is locked by pressing the spindle lock but-
ton(2). This makes it possible to change the application tool
in the drill chuck quickly, conveniently and easily.
u Wear protective gloves when changing tools. The drill
chuck may heat up significantly when it is used for long
periods.
Open the keyed chuck (28) by turning it until the tool can be
inserted.
Insert the tool.
Insert the drill chuck key (29) into the corresponding holes
of the keyed chuck (28) and clamp the tool evenly.
Screwdriving tools
You should always use a universal bit holder (24) when using
screwdriver bits (25). Only use screwdriver bits that fit the
screw head.
For screwdriving, make sure the "drilling/impact drilling" se-
lector switch (3) is always set to the "drilling" symbol.
Changing the drill chuck
u Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any
work on the power tool.
Removing the Drill Chuck (seefigureK)
Remove the auxiliary handle(9).
Insert a steel pin with a diameter of 4 mm and a length of ap-
prox. 50 mm into the hole on the spindle collar to lock the
drill spindle in place. Clamp a hex key (27) in the keyless
chuck (1), leading with the short shaft.
Place the power tool on a firm surface, e.g. a work bench.
Hold the power tool in place and loosen the keyless chuck
