Samsung MC12J8035CT Questions and Answers

#1 Is this black stainless steel? the description and pictures make it hard to tell.

Black with stainless trim. Do not buy if you intend to install it into cabinets. Can only be used on a counter. Very disappointing.

#2 Is the unit able to cool properly from the oven function if you use it with the trim kit as a built-in microwave?

I use mine as a countertop unit. I would imagine that was proper framing, spacing and ventilation cooling should not be an issue.

#3 Can I use normal metal baking sheets in convection only mode?

I've never had a problem with doing this. If you're concerned about this because you can't usually use metal in normal microwaves, the convection-only setting does not use microwaves at all and you won't have trouble.

#4 Where can you find the minutes display on the microwave oven? Right now it shows only the seconds

There are none. You can only increase in 30 sec intervals in normal microwave mode. When using one of the special functions like power convection or slim fry you can use the up/down arrows to add time in one minute intervals.

#5 How many watts is this in microwave mode?

I believe around 950 watts. It seems to be a bit under powered, when doing microwave popcorn.....

#6 How well does it toast? Would you still want a toaster, or would this unit do?

As a daily toast eater and an owner of this oven I'd recommend you keep your toaster.
