Yes, it has a child lock protection on/off switch, you need to press them together to turn it on, but no need to hold it.

#4 Why are the rpms so slow?
The blade is designed to turn slow in order to get enough power to slice the hard food like frozen meat, if the blade turns fast, the machine can't slice the food well. Our product is designed by professional technical personnel. Please rest assured to use it.
