Bulb replacement, exterior tail lights
General information
Follow the safety information, refer to page 274.
Turn signal: 21-watt bulb, P21WLL.
Outer brake light: 21 watt bulb, P21WLL.
Removing the exterior tail light
1. Open the tailgate.
2. Remove the fastening using the screw driver
from the onboard vehicle tool kit, arrow 1.
Remove cover, arrow 2.
3. Loosen both nuts, arrow 1, of the outer tail
light. Use the handle of the screwdriver from
the onboard vehicle tool kit to loosen.
Carefully pull out the tail light from the body
toward the front, arrow 2. Ensure that the wir‐
ing is not damaged.
4. Pull the plug out of the bulb holder and have
the tail light wiring hang outside.
Replacing the bulbs
1.
Loosen the three fasteners, arrow 1, on the
bulb holder.
Remove the bulb holder from the tail light, ar‐
row 2.
2. Press the nonworking bulb gently into the
socket, turn counterclockwise and remove.
▷ Upper bulb: turn signal.
▷ Lower bulb: brake light.
3. Proceed in the reverse order to insert the
new bulb and attach the bulb holder. Make
sure that the bulb holder engages in all fas‐
teners.
Installing the tail light
1.
Connect the plug and mount the wiring on
the tail light, arrow 1.
2. Place the tail light with the tab, arrow 2, on
the anchor of the body and push onto both of
the threaded bolt.
3. Press on the tail lights until flush and tighten
both of the nuts.
4. Mount the cover. Make sure that the plastic
tabs of the cover are correctly seated in the
corresponding recesses of the body.
