1 Important
Safety
Read these instructions.
Heed all warnings.
Follow all instructions.
Do not block any ventilation openings. Install
in accordance with the manufacturer’s
instructions.
Do not install near any heat sources such as
radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other
apparatus (including ampli�ers) that produce
heat.
Protect the power cord from being walked on
or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit
from the clock radio.
Only use attachments/accessories speci�ed
by the manufacturer.
Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms
or when unused for long periods of time.
Refer all servicing to quali�ed service
personnel. Servicing is required when the
apparatus has been damaged in any way,
such as power-supply cord or plug is
damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects
have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus
has been exposed to rain or moisture, does
not operate normally, or has been dropped.
Battery usage CAUTION - To prevent battery
leakage which may result in bodily injury,
property damage, or damage to the clock
radio:
Do not replace a battery with an incorrect type
that can defeat a safeguard (for example, some
lithium battery types).
Leaving a battery in an extremely high
temperature surrounding, or an extremely low
air pressure environment may result in an
explosion or leakage of �ammable liquid or
gas.
Install all batteries correctly, + and - as marked
on the unit.
Remove batteries if they are exhausted or if the
remote control (if included) is not to be used
for a long time.
Batteries contain chemical substances. They
should be disposed of properly.
If you suspect that a battery has been
swallowed or placed inside any part of the
body, seek immediate medical attention.
When you change the batteries, always keep
all new and used batteries out of reach of
children. Ensure that the battery compartment
is completely secure after you replace the

If the battery compartment cannot be

This clock radio shall not be exposed to

clock radio (e.g. liquid �lled objects, lighted

Where the plug of the Direct Plug-in Adapter
is used as the disconnect device, the
disconnect device shall remain readily
operable.
Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix
alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or recharge-
able (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc.) batteries.
CAUTION: Danger of explosion if batteries are
incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the
same or equivalent type.
Battery in extreme high or low temperatures
during use, storage or transportation, and low
air pressure at high altitude can pose safety

Get started
Always follow the instructions in this chapter in

Install batteries
Caution
Risk of product damage! Make sure that the power
voltage corresponds to the voltage printed on the
back or underside of the clock radio.
Risk of electrical shock! When you unplug the power
cord, always pull the plug from the socket. Never pull
the cord.
Connect power
Caution
Risk of explosion! Keep the batteries away from heat,
sunshine or �re. Never discard batteries in �re.
Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should
be disposed of properly.
Do not mix battery types: e.g. alkaline with carbon
zinc. Only use batteries of the same type for the set.
Note
The type plate is located at the bottom of the clock
radio.
Open the battery compartment at the
bottom of the unit.
Insert 2 pcs AAA batteries (not supplied) with
correct polarity (+/-) as indicated, then close the
battery compartment.

volume.
Connect the power adapter to the wall outlet.

Adjust display brightness
Press BRIGHTNESS to select different brightness
levels or turn off the display screen:
High
Medium
Low
Off
Press to turn the unit on.
The radio switches to the last selected source.
Press for 3 seconds to switch the unit to
Standby.
The time and date (if set) are displayed.

Clock/Alarm setting
In DAB/FM RDS station, the unit can synchronize
with time transmitted by DAB/FM RDS station
(with CT information) automatically.

Note

Press and hold BACK for 3 seconds to exit timer setting
mode without storing.

Set sleep timer
This clock radio can switch to standby mode
automatically after a preset period.
Press SLEEP to select a period (in minutes).
The clock radio switches to standby mode
automatically after the preset period.
To deactivate the sleep timer:
Press SLEEP until [OFF] (off) appears.

Press and hold ALR 1 or ALR 2 for 3 seconds to
activated the alarm setup mode, the icon or
and alarm time will blink.

When the alarm sounds, press or corresponding

Make sure that you have set the clock correctly.

Tip
The unit exits alarm setting mode when being idle for
30 seconds.
If DAB/FM source is selected and not preset the station,
Buzzer is activated automatically.
Alarm timeout is 60 minutes if no user action.

Snooze the alarm
When the alarm sounds, press SNOOZE.
The alarm snoozes and repeats ringing 10
minutes later.
Press ALR 1 or ALR 2 to activate or deactivate the
alarm timer.
If the alarm timer is activated, the icon or
and alarm information will appear.
If the alarm timer is deactivated, the icon or
and alarm information will disappear.
During alarm snooze time, press SNOOZE to
select another period (in minutes) to ringing
gain.

Note

Listen to DAB radio
Note
Keep the clock radio away from other electronic devices
to avoid radio interference.
For better reception, fully extend and adjust the position
of the DAB/FM antenna.
Tune to DAB radio stations
To tune to a station from the available station
list:
Tip
To remove a pre-stored station, store another station
in its place.
Tip
The stations may change from time to time. To update
the station list, press and hold SCAN for 3 seconds to
perform full scan.
Store DAB radio stations
Note
You can store a maximum of 20 DAB radio stations.
1 In DAB mode, tune to a DAB radio station.

Press and hold PRESET for 3 seconds to activate
programming mode.
The “Preset Store” is displayed.
The preset number begins to blink.
The “Stored” is displayed.
The station is stored in the selected position.
3 Press TUN /TUN to select a number.

Press PRESET again to con�rm.

5 Repeat steps 1 to 4 to store more DAB radio
stations.
Press TUN /TUN to navigate through the
available DAB stations.
[Scanning] is displayed.
The station list is memorized in the radio.
Next time when you turn on the radio, the
station scan does not take place.
The radio scans and stores all the DAB radio
stations automatically, and then broadcasts
the �rst available station.
Press DAB/FM to select DAB mode.
The �rst time you select DAB radio mode, or if the
station list is empty, the radio performs a full scan
automatically.
Select a preset radio
station
In DAB mode, press PRESET to select a preset
number.
Option A:
1 In DAB mode, press PRESET.
2 Press TUN /TUN to select a preset radio
station.

Press MENU to access DAB menu.
Press TUN /TUN to select a menu option,
and then press ENTER to con�rm the option or
enter the lower-level menu.
[Full scan]: to perform full scan
[Manual tune]: tune to a speci�c channel
/frequency manually and add it to the
station list.
[Prune]: remove all the invalid stations from the
station list.
[DRC level]: compress the dynamic range of a
radio signal, so that the volume of quiet sounds
is increased, and the volume of loud sounds is
reduced.
[Clock setting]: to set date, time and select time,
date format.
[System]: for display the current version of the
�rmware and for reset all radio settings to the
factory default status.
Repeat steps 2 if any sub-option is available under
one option.
Press BACK to return to the previous menu or exit
the menu.

Note
Keep the clock radio away from other electronic
devices to avoid radio interference.
For better reception, fully extend and adjust the
position of the DAB/FM antenna.
Tune to FM radio stations
1 Press DAB/FM to select FM mode.
2 Press and hold TUN /TUN for 3 seconds.
The clock radio tunes to a station with
strong reception automatically.
3 Repeat Step 2 to tune to more radio stations.
To tune to a station manually:
Press TUN /TUN to select a frequency.
Note
The tuning grid of the clock radio is 50KHz, the radio
frequency on the display panel will increase 0.05MHz
by pressing TUN /TUN .
Tip
To remove a pre-stored station, store another station
in its place.
Store FM radio stations
automatically
Store FM radio stations
manually
In FM tuner mode, press and hold SCAN for
3 seconds.
The unit stores all the available FM radio
stations automatically and broadcasts the
�rst station.
Note
You can store a maximum of 20 FM radio stations.
1 In FM tuner mode, tune to an FM radio station.
2 Press and hold PRESET for 3 seconds to activate
programming mode.
The preset number begins to blink.
3 Press TUN /TUN to select a number.

Never remove the casing of the product.
To keep the warranty valid, never try to repair
the device yourself. If you encounter problems
when using this device, check the following
points before requesting service. If the problem
remains unsolved, go to the Philips webpage
www.philips.com/support. When you contact
Philips, make sure that the device is nearby
and the model number and serial number are
available.
No power
Make sure that the AC power plug of the unit
is connected properly.
Make sure that there is power at the AC outlet.
No sound
Adjust the volume.
No response from the unit
Disconnect and reconnect the AC power plug,
then turn on the unit again.
Poor radio reception
Keep the clock radio away from other
electronic devices to avoid radio interference.
Fully extend and adjust the position of the
antenna.
Alarm does not work
Set the clock/alarm correctly.
Clock/alarm setting erased
Power has been interrupted or the power
plug has been disconnected.
Reset the clock/alarm.
Replace the backup batteries.
