RICE COOKING TIPS
When preparing rice, it is important to use the correct ratio of rice
to water. The recommended rice to water ratio is written on the rice
package and should therefore be followed. The resulting texture
andtaste depend on several factors, namely the freshness of the
rice, storage conditions, brand, origin and, last but not least, personal
preferences.
The basic ratio of rice to water is 1 : 1.1. Round grain rice usually
requires more water. The water temperature should be between 5 and
35 °C. Use tapwater. Do not use distilled or filtered water.
Always use the same measuring cup when measuring rice andwater.
This pot is designed to take amaximum of three cups of rice.
When measuring water, you can also use the marks on the inner wall
of the cooking pot. There are marks for cooking Sushi Rice, White
Rice, and Brown Rice.
Before cooking, it is recommended that you rinse the rice thoroughly
(for at least 10 minutes) under cold running water to remove any
excess starch and dirt.
After cooking, it is recommended that you stir the rice to release the
accumulated steam andheat.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, disconnect the power plug from the mains socket and
allow the appliance to cool down.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, solvents, etc. to clean any parts
of the appliance, as these could damage the surface. None of the
components of this appliance are dishwasher safe.
Warning:
To prevent the risk of electric shock, do not immerse
the appliance, power cable, or plug into water or any
other liquid.
Cooking pot and other accessories
Wash the cooking pot, spatula, measuring cup, and steaming attachment
in warm water with alittle dishwashing detergent. Rinse in clean water
and wipe dry.
If ingredients are burnt onto the bottom of the cooking pot, pour warm
water into it and add alittle dishwashing detergent. Let it soak andthen
wash.
Before placing the cooking pot back into the rice cooker, ensure that the
outer bottom of the pot is clean and dry.
Note:
During use, white spots, slight discolouration and possibly
small stains may form on the surface of the cooking pot
due to water quality, high temperature and other conditions.
This is normal and does not affect functionality.
External surface
Wipe the outer surface of the rice cooker and the heating element with
aslightly damp sponge and wipe dry.
Inner lid
1. Press the inner lid release button in the direction of the arrow – see
Figure C1, andremove it from the rice cooker.
2. Wash the inner lid, including the seal groove, in warm water with
alittle dishwashing detergent. Rinse in clean water and wipe dry.
3. Wipe the area where the inner lid is located using adry cloth.
4. Put the inner lid back on. First, insert the lower part of the inner lid
past the protrusions in the inner lid compartment – see Figure C2.
The close the upper part. The protrusion atthe top of the inner lid
should fit into the notch in the inner lid compartment – see Figure
C3. You will hear aclick when the inner lid fits into place.
Steam outlet
Regularly clean the steam outlet (A1).
1. Remove the steam outlet fromthe lid by pulling it upwards – see
Figure D1.
2. Turn the steam outlet so that the bottom side is pointing upwards.
3. Release the lock by pulling outwards – see Figure D2, andcarefully
separate the bottom of the steam outlet. When unfolded, ametal pin
may be released from the bottom of the steam outlet. This is normal.
Be careful not to lose it.
4. Wash both parts in warm water with alittle dishwashing detergent.
Rinse in clean water and wipe dry.
5. Insert the metal pin from the inside into the hole in the bottom part of
the steam outlet – see Figure D3.
6. With one hand, grasp the upper part of the steam outlet, grasp the
lower part of the steam outlet with the other hand andconnect both
parts together so that the notches on the lower part fit behind the
protrusions on the upper part – see Figure D4. The lock must be
pulled up (it should not be down) so that you can attach the two
parts to one another.
7. Secure both parts with the lock until you hear aclick.
