Read All Instructions Before Use
For your safety, the safety of others, and to avoid any damage to the
product and your vehicle, carefully read and make sure you fully
understand all the safety instructions and messages in this manual before
operating. You must also read the vehicle's service manual, and observe the
stated precautions or instructions before and during any test or service
procedure
Keep yourself, your clothing and other objects away from moving or hot
engine parts and avoid contact with electrical connections
Only operate the vehicle in a well-ventilated area, as the vehicle produces
carbon monoxide, a toxic and poisonous gas, and particulate matter when
the engine is running
Always wear approved safety goggles to prevent damage from sharp
objects and caustic liquids
Do not smoke or have any ames near the vehicle when testing. The fuel
and battery vapors are highly ammable
Do not attempt to interact with the product while driving. Any distraction
may cause an accident
Turn the ignition off before connecting or disconnecting the product from
the vehicle's data link connector (DLC) to prevent causing damage to the
product or vehicle's electronic components
Exercise extreme caution when working near the ignition coil, distributor
cap, ignition wires, and spark plugs. These components can generate
hazardous voltages while the engine is running
Keep the device clean, dry, and free from oil, water, or grease. When
necessary, clean the exterior using a clean cloth lightly dampened with a
mild detergent
Always consult the specic vehicle's service manual and adhere to all
diagnostic procedures and safety warnings. Failure to do so may result in
personal injury or equipment damage
To prevent equipment damage and inaccurate readings, ensure the vehicle's
battery is fully charged and the connection to the Data Link Connector (DLC)
is secure
Do not place test equipment on or near the vehicle's distributor, as strong
electromagnetic interference can severely damage the device.

There are potential risks of failure, interruption, or abnormal execution
during the programming process. Such issues may lead to vehicle
malfunctions, control unit damage, module failure, or even prevent the
vehicle from starting or operating properly. Please exercise extra caution
when using the programming function.
Do not use the programming function if you do not have sufcient
programming experience or cannot fully assess the potential
consequences of the operation. Any failure may cause related modules to
malfunction and affect normal vehicle operation
Carefully follow all system prompts and ensure that all required
preconditions are met before and during programming, including proper
power supply, stable connections, correct vehicle status, and suitable
operating environment. If any safety alerts appear, acknowledge them and
follow the on-screen instructions before proceeding
Users are solely responsible for any damage to the vehicle, components,
data, or related systems resulting from failure to follow these instructions or
system requirements during the programming process.

SECTION 3: GETTING STARTED
3.1 Basic Setup
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn on the tablet. Follow the
steps below to congure basic settings

2.Choose the appropriate region and time zone.

3.Select a Wi-Fi from the scanned list and enter the password
The tablet is activated successfully. Tap Startto begin using it.

5.Log in to your TOPDON account. (If you do not have one, tap Create
Accountto register a new account.
Tips
Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Control Center. It
displays the system time, notications, and provides quick access to Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth, screen recording, camera, ashlight, lift-to-wake, brightness, and
volume settings
To record your screen, you can tap the button Screen record. After the
recording is complete, you can view it by going to Folder > Gallery > SCREEN
REC.

3.2 Connecting the ONE VCI to the Vehicle's DL
Before performing diagnostics, the ONE VCI needs to be connected to the
vehicle. This section describes the most common methods for connecting the
ONE VCI to a motorcycle or a personal watercraft (PWC)
3.2.1 Connecting the ONE VCI to a Motorcycl
Ensure the ignition is OFF before connecting the ONE VCI to the vehicles
data link connector (DLC)

Locate the vehicle's DLC. On most motorcycles, the DLC is typically located
under the seat or near the engine. Figure 3-6 shows the ve most common
DLC locations on motorcycles.
Tip
If you have difculty locating the DLC, go to Library > DLC Diagnostic Port
Position and Diagnostic Wirefor detailed diagrams, or refer to the vehicle's
service manual

3.2.2 Connecting the ONE VCI to a Personal Watercraf
Ensure the ignition is OFF before connecting the ONE VCI to the vehicle's

located inside the engine compartment or near the ECU. Figure 3-7 shows
the ve most common DLC locations on personal watercraft

3.3 Activating the Vehicles EC
To establish communication between the vehicle and the ONE VCI, the ECU
must be powered on. This is typically achieved by turning the ignition switch to
the ON position and setting the engine stop switch to the RUN position. This
section outlines the most common activation procedures for motorcycles and
personal watercraft

The procedures described in this section are for reference only. Vehicle-specic
ignition and ECU activation procedures may vary depending on the vehicle
model. If necessary, refer to the vehicles service manual for the most accurate
information

3.3.1 Procedures for a Motorcycl
Ensure the ONE VCI is connected to the DLC as described in Section 3.2.1
Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position (see Figure 3-8)
Set the engine stop switch to “RUN” (see Figure 3-9)
Wait for the ONE VCI power indicator to illuminate solid red, indicating
successful power supply and communication readiness

3.3.2 Procedures for a Personal Watercraf
Ensure the personal watercraft is properly moored or placed on a trailer
before starting any diagnostic procedure
Ensure the ONE VCI is connected to the DLC as described in Section 3.2.2
Attach the safety lanyard (engine shut-off cord) to the operator or a secure
point
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position or activate the vehicle electrical
system according to the manufacturer's procedure
If required by the vehicle design, operate the engine start/stop switch to
enable or wake the diagnostic system (specic procedures vary by
manufacturer and model)
Wait for the ONE VCI power indicator to illuminate solid red, indicating
successful power supply and communication readiness
Note
On some personal watercraft models, the diagnostic system may automatically
enter sleep mode after a period of inactivity, causing the DLC and diagnostic
device to lose power. If the red indicator extinguishes, indicating that the ONE
VCI powers off, press the engine start button again to wake the system to
supply power to the ONE VCI. Depending on the vehicle model, this procedure
may need to be repeated periodically.

3.4 Pairing the ONE VCI with the Table
To enable communication between the tablet and the vehicle, the ONE VCI
must rst be paired with the tablet either wirelessly (via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi) or
through a wired USB connection
3.4.1 Wireless VCI Connectio
Two wireless connection methods are available for pairing the ONE VCI with the
tablet: Bluetooth or Wi-Fi
Method 1: Wi-Fi Connectio
Note
Before establishing a Wi-Fi connection between the tablet and the VCI, ensure
that the HOST mode is enabled under User Info > Settings > USB Mode Switch
Tap Moto or Marine, then the icon in the upper-right corner of the
screen
Tap the desired VCI name from the Wi-Fi list
Note
You can identify the VCI by the last four digits of its serial number

Once the wireless connection is established, the connection indicator on the
VCI illuminates solid blue, and the icon appears in the top right
corner of the screen
Note
To terminate the Wi-Fi connection, tap the VCI name from the list again.

Method 2: Bluetooth Connectio
Tap Moto or Marine, then the icon in the top right corner of the screen
Tap the desired VCI name from the Bluetooth list
Once the wireless connection is established, the connection indicator on the
VCI illuminates solid blue, and the icon appears in the top right corner
of the screen

To disconnect, tap the VCI name from the list again
3.4.2 Wired VCI Connectio
The wired connection is established via a USB cable linking the VCI and the
tablet
Note
Before establishing a wired connection between the tablet and the VCI, ensure
that the HOST mode is enabled under User Info > Settings > USB Mode Switch
Use the USB cable (USB-A to USB-C) to connect the VCI to the tablet
Once the wired connection is established, the connection indicator on the
VCI illuminates solid blue, and the icon appears in the upper-right
corner on the screen
Tips
Under normal conditions, when the ONE VCI is connected to the vehicles
DLC, the ECU is powered on, and the VCI is paired with the tablet, the
communication indicator on the ONE VCI will blink green, indicating
successful communication
To switch to a different VCI, tap the VCI icon in the upper-right corner of the
screen and select the desired device from the list. The system will switch
automatically.

SECTION 4: HOME SCREEN LAYOUT
After completing the vehicle and the ONE VCI setup procedures described in
Section 3, you can start a diagnostic session. To help you get started, this
section provides an overview of the home screen and its main function buttons.

The home screen includes seven main functions and a oating chat tool. A brief
description of each is given in the table below.

SECTION 5: MOTO (MOTORCYCLE
DIAGNOSTICS)
The motorcycle diagnosticsmodule allows you to scan all supported vehicle
systems with one touch (Auto Scan) for DTCs or select an individual system to
retrieve and clear DTCs, view data streams, read ECU information, perform hot
functions, and conduct active tests. It also provides access to EOBD functions.
5.1 Diagnostic Toolbar
After accessing the motorcycle diagnostics interfaces, a tool bar is displayed in
the upper-right corner of the screen. This section presents a brief introduction
to these tools
5.1.1 Tool Description
Tool Description
Tap it to launch the AI tool TopFix, where you can access DTC
interpretation, recall information, repair instructions and parts
replacement suggestions
Tap it to update the translations of the content on the current screen
for improved clarity
Tap it to instantly send diagnostic feedback (with diagnostic logs
automatically attached) when you encounter a software issue during
diagnostic operations. The detailed operation steps are presented in
Section 5.1.2
It displays the connection status between the VCI and the tablet. If
the icon is gray, tap it to connect via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or connect
the VCI directly to the tablet using a USB cable
Tap it to exit the current session. After exiting, the connection
between the VCI and the vehicles DLC must be re-established if you
want to restart the procedure.
5.1.2 Submit Diagnostic Feedbac
The device allows you to instantly send diagnostic feedback (with diagnostic
logs automatically attached) when you encounter a software issue during
diagnostic operations

5.2 Identifying the Vehicl
The main diagnostic workow is as follows: identify the vehicle > select the
desired function from the main menu > follow the on-screen instructions to
perform the required operations > complete the diagnostics and exit the
session. This section describes the vehicle identication process

Ensure that the vehicle-specic software matching the actual vehicle make
has been downloaded via Update > Moto
Return to the home screen and tap Moto. A menu of vehicle-specic
diagnostic software displays.

vehicle
Manual/By model: Select the vehicle information manually to assist the
device in identifying the vehicle
System: Select a system for scanning or tap Auto Scan to automatically
scan all systems installed on the vehicle
Tips
Diag Socket displays the DLC location or diagnostic cable diagrams for
the selected vehicle model to facilitate the diagnostics process
Manual service function provides detailed operation guides for certain
maintenance services or fault codes for reference

systems congured on the vehicle. Systems with DTCs detected are marked
with a red triangle and the number of DTCs, while systems without DTCs are

5.4 Hot Function
The Hot Functionsmodule provides quick access to the most commonly used
service and maintenance operations supported by the vehicle. These functions
enable the tablet to communicate directly with the vehicles ECUs and perform
advanced tasks beyond basic diagnostics, such as resetting, adaptation,
matching, and calibration. Typical hot functions include Oil Reset, Throttle
Adaptation, ABS Bleeding, Steering Angle Reset, and TPMS Reset.

5.4.1 Hot Functions Overvie
This section provides a brief introduction to the most commonly used hot
functions. The number and types of functions may vary depending on the
vehicle make, model, and year. Refer to the actual interface for the most
accurate information
Oil Rese
If the service lamp is on, it indicates that the vehicle needs maintenance. After
maintenance, you need to reset the driving mileage or driving time so that the
service lamp turns off and the system enables the new maintenance cycle
After changing engine oil or electric appliances that monitor oil life, you need to
reset the service lamp
Throttle Adaptatio
Use the vehicle decoder to initialize the throttle actuation element so that the
ECU learning value returns to its initial status. This ensures more accurate
regulation of throttle (or idle motor) operations to control intake air quantity.
Throttle matching must be performed in the following cases:
The ECU is replaced and does not yet store the throttle working
characteristics.
The ECU is disconnected, and the ECU memory is lost.

The throttle assembly is replaced.
The intake passage is replaced or removed, affecting idle speed control by
the ECU and throttle body.
The throttle is cleaned. Although the idle throttle potentiometer
characteristics remain unchanged, the intake quantity has changed with the
same throttle opening, altering the idle speed control characteristics

If the brake pad wears down to the brake pad sense line, the brake pad sense
line sends a signal to the on-board computer to replace the brake pad.Before
removing the brake pads, retract the servo motor screw to the initial position.
After replacing the brake pads, adjust the servo motor to the proper position
and perform EPB reset.
EPB Reset must be performed in the following cases:
The brake pad and brake pad wear sensor are replaced.
The brake pad indicator lamp is on.
The brake pad sensor circuit is short-circuited and has been repaired.
The servo motor is replaced
Steering Angle Rese
To reset the steering angle, rst nd the relative zero-point position where the
vehicle drives in a straight line. Using this position as a reference, the ECU can
calculate the accurate angles for left and right steering.
Steering Angle Reset must be performed after replacing the steering angle
position sensor, replacing steering mechanical parts (such as the steering
gearbox, steering column, end tie rod, or steering knuckle), performing four-
wheel alignment, or recovering the vehicle body
ABS Bleedin
When the ABS contains air, the ABS bleeding function must be performed to
bleed the brake system to restore ABS brake sensitivity.
If the ABS computer, ABS pump, brake master cylinder, brake cylinder, brake
line, or brake uid is replaced, the ABS bleeding function must be performed to
bleed the ABS system
DPF Regeneratio
DPF regeneration is used to regularly clear pm (particulate matter) from the
trap using combustion oxidation methods (such as high-temperature heating
combustion, fuel additives or catalysts to lower the PM ignition point) to
maintain optimal and stable trap performance.
DPF regeneration matching must be performed in the following cases:
The exhaust backpressure sensor is replaced.
The PM trap is removed or replaced.
The fuel additive injector is removed or replaced.
The catalytic oxygenizer is removed or replaced.
The DPF regeneration MIL is on, and maintenance is performed.
The DPF regeneration control module is replaced
Injector Codin
Write the actual injector code or rewrite the stored code in the ECU to match
the codes of the corresponding cylinders, so as to more accurately control or
correct the quantity of each cylinder.

After the tire pressure Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) turns on and

The marine diagnosticsmodule allows you to scan all systems congured on
the personal watercraft (hereinafter referred to as the PWC) with one touch
(Auto Scan) for DTCs or select an individual system to retrieve and clear DTCs,
view data streams, read ECU information, perform hot functions and conduct
active tests.
6.1 Diagnostic Toolbar
After accessing the PWC diagnostics interfaces, a tool bar is displayed in the
upper-right corner of the screen. This section presents a brief introduction to
these tools

Do I need to update the rmware before using the product for the
rst time
Yes. Firmware will automatically update to the latest version once
the ONE VCI is connected with yourtablet. You can also tap User
Info > Firmware Updateto update the rmware manually
Why does the tablet screen ash when the engine is running
That is a normal occurrence caused by electromagnetic interference
How does the ONE VCI work as a J2534 Pass-Thru device?
To use ONE VCI as a J2534 Pass-Thru device
Download and install RLink Platform from the ofcial TOPDON
website.
Launch the RLink Platform and log in with the same TOPDON
account used on the tablet
Connect the ONE VCI to a Windows-based computer with the
RLink Platform installed using a USB cable, and connect it to the
vehicles DLC using the OBD-II diagnostics cable
Click Bind and Activate to link your ONE VCI to the RLink
Platform
Click Driver > Driver Download to download and install the
corresponding OEM driver.
Additional steps may vary depending on the vehicle make,
model, and year. For detailed instructions, go to User Guidance >
Quick Guidance > ONE VCI to view guidance for supported
vehicle makes
Note
Before performing diagnostics, you must download and install
the required OEM diagnostic software on your computer. If
you encounter any issues during installation, log in to the
RLink Platform and navigate to User Guidance > Install OEM
Software to view installation instructions for major
manufacturers
This diagnostic tool does not include any OEM diagnostic
software. You need to subscribe to the required software from
the corresponding manufacturers ofcial website.
Which vehicle makes are supported by the ONE VCI under the J2534
protocol
Vehicle makes supported by the ONE VCI under the J2534 protocol
are continuously updated. Currently, the supported makes include:
GM, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Land Rover, Mazda,
Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, Volvo, and Volkswagen.

Can the device still be used after the free software update expires
Yes. After the free software update expires, core diagnostic functions
remain available, including EOBD, DTC reading and clearing, data
streaming, active tests, and maintenance services
Which advanced features will no longer be available after the
software expires
Some advanced features will no longer be accessible, such as vehicle
software updates, ECU coding, programming, and TopFix AI
What should I do if a communication error occurs
Follow the steps below for troubleshooting
Check if the ignition is ON
Check if the ONE VCI is securely plugged into the vehicles DLC
Turn the ignition off. Then, turn it on again after 10 seconds and
continue the operation
Check if the vehicles control module is defective
If the problem persists, contact TOPDON customer service or the
vehicle manufacturer

SECTION 15: WARRANTY
TOPDON's One-Year Limited Warrant
TOPDON warrants to its original purchaser that the company's products will be
free from defects in material and workmanship for 12 months from the date of
purchase (Warranty Period).
For the defects reported during the Warranty Period, TOPDON will either repair
or replace the defective part or product according to its technical support
analysis and conrmation
TOPDON shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages arising
from the device's use, misuse, or mounting.
If there is any conict between the TOPDON warranty policy and local laws, the
local laws shall prevail
This limited warranty is void under the following conditions
Misused, disassembled, altered or repaired by unauthorized stores or
technicians
Careless handling and/or improper operation
