1.1. ELECTRICAL SAFETY FOR USE OF CHARGER

 WARNING! It is the user’s responsibility to check the following:

8 DO NOTexposetotemperaturesabove60°C(140°).

9 Replace only with the battery pack designated for this product.

9 Recycle or dispose of used battery as stipulated by local regulation.

9 If the electrolyte in the cells gets on your skin, thoroughly wash with soap and water. If it gets in your eyes, rinse thoroughly with cool

water and seek immediate medical attention.

9 Ensure the internal battery is fully charged before initial use.

8 DO NOTmove/handle/usetheRoadStart®whenitisbeingcharged.

8 DO NOTleavebatteryinadischargedstate,rechargebatteryimmediately.Onlyusechargersupplied.Beforestorage,fullyrecharge

1.3. GENERAL SAFETY

CHARGING. WORKING IN THE VICINITY OF A LEAD-ACID BATTERY IS DANGEROUS. BATTERIES GENERATE EXPLOSIVE

9  Ensurethereisanotherpersonwithinhearingrangeofyourvoiceandcloseenoughtocometoyouraid,should a problem arise when

 workingnearalead-acidbattery.

9  Wearsafetyeyeprotectionandprotectiveclothing.Avoidtouchingeyeswhileworkingnearbattery.

9  Havefreshwaterandsoapnearbyincasebatteryacidcontactsskin,clothingoreyes.

9 Wash immediately with soap and water if battery acid contacts skin or clothing. If acid enters eye, flush eye immediately with cool, clean

 runningwaterforatleast15minutesandseekimmediatemedicalattention.

9  Removepersonalmetallicitemssuchasrings,bracelets,necklacesandwatches.Alead-acidbatterycanproduceashort-circuitcurrent

 whichishighenoughtoweldaringortheliketometal,whichwouldcausesevereburns.

9  Ensurehands,clothing(especiallybelts)areclearoffanbladesandothermovingorhotpartsofengine,removetiesandcontainlonghair.

8 DO NOTsmokeorallowasparkorflameinthevicinityofbatteryorengine.

1.3.2. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS–ChargetheRoadstart®’sinternalbattery.Onlyusesuppliedchargerimmediatelyafterpurchase, 

 aftereachuseandasoftenaspossible.ItishighlyrecommendedtoleavetheRoadstart®permanentlyconnectedtotheautomatic

 charger.ThismanualwillshowyouhowtouseyourRoadstart®safelyandeffectively.Pleaseread,understandandfollow 

these instructions and precautions carefully, as this manual contains important safety and operating instructions.

9  UsetheRoadStart®intheuprightpositiononlyandensureitisplacedonastablesurfacewhichwilladequatelysupportitsweight.

9 Keep tools and other items away from the engine and ensure you can see the battery and working parts of engine clearly.

9 Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the working area.

 negative.

8 DO NOT pull the cables or clamps from the battery terminals.

8 DO NOT charge outdoors, or in damp, or wet locations and DO NOToperatewithinthevicinityofflammableliquidsorgases.

8 DO NOT use for a task for which it is not designed.

9 When not in use, store carefully in a safe, dry, childproof location.

9  Onlyuseforstartingvehicleswith12/24Vsystems.DO NOTuseforothervehiclessuchasaircraft,shipsetc.

8 DO NOTuseinplaceofavehiclebatteryorasabatterycharger.

8 DO NOTjumpstartmorethan3timesinarow.Itcoulddamagetheunitbyoverheating.Givetwominutesbetweenattempts.

9 Remove the product from the vehicle battery within 30 seconds of jump starting. If not, it could lead to damage.

8 DO NOTmodifyordisassembleRoadStart®.Onlyarepairtechnicianmayrepairthisunit.

8 DO NOTdropunit.Ifunitreceivesasharpbloworisotherwisedamagedinanywayhaveitcheckedbyaqualiedtechnician.

5.2. CHARGING THE JUMP STARTER

 IMPORTANT:YOUMUSTCHARGECOMPLETELYBEFOREFIRSTUSE,AFTEREVERYJUMPSTART,ANDEVERY30DAYS

 ORWARRANTYISVOID.Onlyusethedetachablechargerunitprovidedwiththeappliance.

 WARNING!TOPREVENTSERIOUSINJURY:

 Chargeonanon-ammablesurface.

 PressTESTButtontocheckbatterylevel:displayalternatesbetweenbattery%andvolts.

 WhentheBatteryisabove75%thismeansthebatteryisinagoodstate,noneedforcharging.

 WhentheBatteryisbetween50-75%itneedsrecharging.

 WhentheBatteryisbetween50%orless,itneedrechargingimmediately.

Plug Charging Cable into Charging Port on rear.

 Whilecharging,CHGwillappearontheDisplayalternatingwiththebatterylevelpercentage.

When charging is complete FULL will appear on the Display.

When the Jump Starter is fully charged, unplug Charging Cable from the power supply and the Jump Starter.

5.3. USING THE WORK LIGHT

 PressandholdtheLIGHT/USSButtonapproximately3secondstoturntheWorkLightoninbrightmode.

 PresstheButtonrepeatedlytocyclethroughlow,ashing,rapidashing,andSOSmodes.

 ToturntheWorkLighto󰀨,presstheLIGHT/USSButton.

NOTE:WorkLightstopsworkingwhenbatteryvoltageleveldropsbelow11V.

5.4. JUMP STARTING A VEHICLE

NOTE:Readthevehicleowner’smanualpertainingtojump-startingpriortousingtheRoadstart®.

 PressTESTButtontocheckbatterylevel.TheRoadstart®mustbefullycharged.Rechargeasneeded,refertosectionabove.

 Turno󰀨thevehicleignitionswitchandallaccessories(lights,radio,climatecontrol,etc.).

 DisconnecttheBatteryClamps,itwillnotbepossibletojumpstartwiththisunit.

 Whenthecorrectconnectionhasbeenmade,the“externalbatteryvoltagevalue”willappearontheDisplay.

 •24VBattery-TurntheMainSwitchtothe24Vposition.(PRS4400)

 Attempttostartthevehicle.Ifthevehicledoesnotstartwithin5seconds,turnMainSwitcho󰀨andwaitatleast3minutesbeforetrying

again.

 Afterthevehicleisstarted,turntheMainSwitcho󰀨.RemovetheblackNegativeBatteryClamprst,andthentheredPositiveBattery

Clamp.

Recharge the Jump Starter.

6.2. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the Jump Starter. Check for:

• loose hardware

• cracked or broken parts

• damaged electrical wiring or cable insulation

 •anyotherconditionthatmaya󰀨ectitssafeoperation.

6.3. Keep unit clean and clamps free of dirt, debris, or grease.

6.4. For longer working life, protect unit from sunlight and moisture.

6.5.  AFTERUSE,wipeexternalsurfaceswithacleancloth.

6.6. RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE:

 Rechargejump-startaftereveryusage.

 Rechargeevery3monthsasregularmaintenance.

7. END OF LIFE
