WIRING SAFETY FOR UK USE ONLY
IMPORTANT
As the colours in the
mains lead of this
appliance may not
correspond with the
coloured markings
identifying the terminals
in your plug, please
proceed as follows:
The wires in the mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
Blue neutral [N] Brown live [L]
Green/Yellow [EARTH]
Plug Fitting Details (Where Applicable).
The wire coloured blue is the neutral and must
be connected to the terminal marked [N] or
coloured black.
The wire coloured brown is the live wire and
must be connected to the terminal marked [L] or
coloured red.
The wire coloured green/yellow must be
connected to the terminal marked with the letter
[E] or marked
.
On no account must either the brown or the blue
wire be connected to the [EARTH] terminal
.
Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened
correctly.
The plug must be tted with a fuse of the same
rating already tted and conforming to BS 1362
and be ASTA approved.
If in doubt consult a qualied electrician who will
be pleased to do this for you.
Non-Rewireable Mains Plug
If your appliance is supplied with a non-
rewireable plug tted to the mains lead and
should the fuse need replacing, you must use an
ASTA approved one (conforming to BS 1362 of
the same rating).
If in doubt, consult a qualied electrician who will
be pleased to do this for you.
If you need to remove the plug – disconnect
it from the mains – and then cut it o of the
mains lead and immediately dispose of it in a
safe manner. Never attempt to reuse the plug or
insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger

BEFORE YOUR FIRST USE:
1. Remove your appliance from the packaging.
2. Assemble your appliance.
3. Locate your appliance in accordance with the safety instructions.
4. Plug the appliance into the mains supply.
5. Your appliance is now ready for normal use.
6. Dispose of the packaging in a responsible manner.

ASSEMBLY
1. Position the heater upside down being
careful to keep it stable.
2. Press a wheel into one of the holes on
the foot base and then place a screw into
the centre. Then screw in tightly with a
screwdriver.
3. Repeat for each other leg.
4. Carefully turn the heater the right way up.
POSITIONING OF THE HEATER
The heater should only be operated at a
minimum distance of 1 metre from any wall or
other object. Always position the air ow so
that it will optimise the heating of the room.
USING YOUR APPLIANCE
Note: When switched on for the rst time a
slight odour may be emitted for a few minutes.
This is harmless and occurs with most
appliances as slight traces of dust or lubricants
may have collected during manufacture.
5. Place the heater on a level surface in a
stable upright position.
6. Ensure power switches are in the “O”
(OFF) position and the thermostat is also
in the “•” (OFF) position.
7. Unwind the power cord and plug your
heater into a power socket (observing
the instructions regarding positioning).
Ensure the voltage on the specication
plate is the same as in your home and the
power cord is lying safely on the ground.
8. Switch the heater ON by selecting:
• Power setting I – 1000W
• Power setting II – 1500W
9. The heater operates when both the
power switch and thermostat function are
activated.
10. The red indicator light will turn on when
both thermostat control and power switch
are activated.
THERMOSTAT FUNCTION
1. Set the desired room temperature by
turning the thermostat dial clockwise to
the desired position. You may adjust the
temperature during use. To turn down the
thermostat turn the dial anti-clockwise.
2. To nd the ideal thermostat setting for
3. your room, rst set the knob to the
maximum position. As soon as the
temperature is comfortable, turn the
thermostat down slowly, until the heater
turns o. The heater will keep the
surrounding air at this set temperature
by switching on and o at intervals. The
indicator light lights up when the heater
is on.
4. To switch the heater o fully, turn the
power switches to “O” and the thermostat
to “•”. The indicator light will also turn o.

OVER-HEAT PROTECTION
1. This heater is protected with an over-heat
protection cut-out facility that switches it
o automatically if it over-heats.
2. Overheating can be caused by
obstruction to the air intakes on the back
of the heater or the grill on the front.
3. If this occurs please disconnect the heater
from the power socket and allow it to cool
for 30 minutes. Remove any obstruction
and turn the heater back on.
4. The heater should operate normally.
5. Should the problem persist contact your
nearest service centre.
SAFETY CUT-OUT SWITCH
• The heater is tted with a safety cut-out
switch to switch the heater o if it is
knocked over.
• If the heater is knocked over and the cut-
out switch activates turn the heater o at
the power outlet and take EXTREME care
when standing the heater upright as it will
still be hot.
• Inspect the heater for damage especially
to the heating elements and supply cord.
• If any damage is visible do not operate the
heater.
CLEANING AND CARE
IMPORTANT: Turn o the heater. Switch o the
power switch and disconnect the heater from
the power socket. Wait for the heater to be
completely cool before cleaning.
• Vacuum clean air vents and grilles to
remove dust from these areas.
• To remove dust on external surfaces, wipe
the heater with a damp (not wet) lint- free
cloth rinsed in hot soapy water only.
• Do not use any harsh detergent or
abrasive cleaners.
• Do not spray with liquids or submerge in
liquids or water.
• Do not attempt to clean the interior of the
heater.
• Do not attempt to open the heater casing
at any time.

DO NOT IMMERSE ANY ELECTRICAL PART
OF THE APPLIANCE IN WATER SUCH AS
MOTOR UNITS OR PLUGS.
