Safety Warnings
• A minimum distance of 5 cm around the
unit should be maintained to allow for
sucient ventilation.
• Do not install or place this unit in a
bookcase, built-in cabinet or in another
conned space. Ensure the unit is well
ventilated.
Safety
• Always disconnect the unit from the mains
supply before connecting/disconnecting
other devices or moving the unit.
• Unplug the unit from the mains socket
during a lightning storm.
• In the interests of safety and to avoid
unnecessary energy consumption,
never leave the unit switched on while
unattended for long periods of time, e.g.
overnight, while on holiday or while out of
the house. Switch it o and disconnect the
mains plug from the mains socket.
Mains Cable
• Make sure the unit or unit stand is not
resting on top of the mains cable, as the
weight of the unit may damage the mains
cable and create a safety hazard.
• If the mains cable is damaged it must be
replaced by the manufacturer, its service
agent, or similarly qualied persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
Interference
• Do not place the unit on or near appliances
which may cause electromagnetic
interference. If you do, it may adversely aect
the operating performance of the unit,
and cause a distorted picture or sound.
Batteries
• Batteries used in the remote control for this
unit are easily swallowed by young children
and this is dangerous.
• Keep loose batteries away from young
children and make sure that the battery
holder tray is secure in the remote control.
Seek medical advice if you believe a cell
has been swallowed.
• Please dispose of batteries correctly by
following the guidance in this manual.
Supervision
• Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the unit and the
remote control.
• Read all the instructions carefully before
using the unit and keep them for future
reference.
• Retain the manual. If you pass the unit
onto a third party make sure to include this
manual.
• Check that the voltage marked on the
rating label matches your mains voltage.
Damage
• Please inspect the unit for damage after
unpacking.
• Do not continue to operate the unit if you
are in any doubt about it working normally,
or if it is damaged in any way – switch o,
withdraw the mains plug and consult
your dealer.
Location of Unit
• The unit must be placed on a at stable
surface and should not be subjected to
vibrations.
• Do not place the unit on sloped or unstable
surfaces as the unit may fall o or tip over.
• The mains socket must be located near the
unit and should be easily accessible.
• This unit is designed for indoor, domestic
use only.
Temperature
• Avoid extreme degrees of temperature,
either hot or cold. Place the unit well away
from heat sources such as radiators or
gas/electric res.
• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and other
sources of heat.
Naked Flames
• Never place any type of candle or naked
ame on the top of or near the unit.
Moisture
• To reduce the risk of re, electric shock or
product damage, do not expose this unit
to rain, moisture, dripping or splashing.
No objects lled with liquids, such as vases,
should be placed on the unit.
• If you spill any liquid into the unit, it can
cause serious damage. Switch it o at the
mains immediately. Withdraw the mains
plug and consult your dealer.
Ventilation
• To prevent the risk of electric shock or
re hazard due to overheating, ensure
that curtains and other materials do not
obstruct the ventilation vents.

• To access menus using the MENU button on the unit press and hold the MENU button.
• The TUNING/ENTER dial on the unit can be turned to scroll through menus or radio stations and
pressed to select menu items or radio stations. Its the same as using the SKIP and ENTER buttons on
the remote control.

Preparation
Removing the insulating strip
Remove the insulating plastic strip from the battery if the
battery is being used for the rst time. It is located at the
bottom back side of the remote control.
Battery Replacement for the Remote Control
The remote control requires a CR2032, 3V Lithium battery.
1. Slide and hold the battery release tab in the direction
of the arrow and at the same time pull out the battery
holder.
2. Fully pull out the battery holder and remove the old
battery.
3. Replace with a new battery.
4. Insert the battery holder back into the remote
control.
Handling the Battery
• Improper or incorrect use of batteries may cause corrosion or battery leakage, which could cause re,
personal injury or damage to property.
• Install the battery correctly by following the polarity (+ and –) indications in the battery compartment.
• When the battery is exhausted, the remote control will not function.
• Only use the battery type indicated in this manual.
• Do not dispose of the used battery as domestic waste. Dispose of it in accordance with the local
regulations.
• Small button cell batteries such as the one used in the remote control are easily swallowed by young
children and this is dangerous. Keep loose button cells away from young children and make sure that
the battery holder tray is secure in the remote control. Seek medical advice if you believe a cell has
been swallowed.
Handling the Remote Control
• Do not drop the remote control.
• Do not allow anything to impact the remote control.
• Do not spill water or any liquid on the remote control.
• Do not place the remote control on a wet object.
• Do not place the remote control under direct sunlight or near sources of excessive heat.
• Remove the battery from the remote control when not in use for a long period of time, as corrosion or
battery leakage may occur and result in physical injury, and / or property damage, and / or re.
• When the battery is exhausted, the remote control will not function.

Remote Control Operation Range
• Point the remote control
towards the unit, no more
than 4 meters from the remote
control sensor and within 60°
arc in front of the unit.
• Please note that the operating
distance may vary depending
on the brightness of the room.
• Make sure there are no obstacles between the infrared remote sensor of the unit and remote control.
If you install the unit on rack, etc., the remote controllable range may decrease depending on the
thickness or colour of glass door of rack.
• The infrared remote sensor may not function correctly when exposed to direct sunlight or other
strong light sources.

Basic Operation
The rst time you switch your unit on it will automatically start to scan for DAB radio
stations, so make sure you have fully extended your aerial.
Switching ON/OFF
When rst switched on, the unit will be in Standby
mode. The display will show 00:00 00 and the clock
will start. The clock will not nd the correct time
until the unit is switched on.
• Press
STANDBY on the unit or remote control to switch the unit on. Your unit will
switch on in DAB mode and automatically scan for DAB radio stations (rst time you
switch on ONLY). Otherwise it will switch on in the last mode you had been using.
• Press
STANDBY on the unit or remote control again to switch the unit back into
standby.
ECO-Power Mode
This unit features an ECO-Power/Standby mode. It automatically turns to Standby mode
after 15 minutes if the unit is idle in BLUETOOTH, CD or USB mode or the external unit is
disconnected, switched o or the volume is too close to mute.
• To switch the unit o completely, remove the mains plug from the mains socket.
• To save energy, turn the unit o completely when not in use.
This instruction manual explains the basic instructions for operating this unit. Unless otherwise stated,
all operations described are based on remote control use.
Selecting Modes
Press the MODE button to switch between DAB, FM, CD, USB, AUX, BLUETOOTH modes.
The selected mode will show on the display.
DSP (Digital Sound Processor)
This system supports DSP (Digital Sound Processor). Press DSP button repeatedly to toggle
between DSP ON and DSP OFF.
When your desire mode appears in the display, stop pressing the button and it will be
activated in two seconds.
When the unit is turned on DSP will automatically be switch to ON.

Sleep Timer
This function allows you to program the unit to switch o by itself after a set period of time.
By setting the sleep timer, you can fall asleep to music and know that your unit will turn o
by itself rather than play all night.
1. Press SLEEP repeatedly to select your desired number of minutes. The number of
minutes shown will display in this sequence:
SLEEP 60SLEEP 70SLEEP 80 SLEEP 50
SLEEP 10 SLEEP 20 SLEEP 30 SLEEP 40
SLEEP 90
SLEEP OFF
2. Press SLEEP to view the remaining time before switch o. Your unit will also briey
display the sleep time remaining every minute.
3. To cancel the sleep timer, press SLEEP repeatedly until “SLEEP OFF” shows on the
display.
Adjusting the Speaker Volume Levels and Sound Eects
Adjusting the Volume
To increase or decrease the volume, turn the – VOLUME + dial on the unit or press the
VOLUME + / – buttons on the remote control.
Mute
To temporarily mute the sound press the MUTE button. Press the MUTE button again, or
press VOLUME +/– to resume normal listening.
Preset Equalizer
You can choose from 5 preset equalizer settings: FLAT/ ROCK / CLASSIC / POP / JAZZ.
Press the EQ button on the remote control repeatedly to select the desired setting.
Clock Operation
The clock on this unit can automatically synchronize with the time transmitted by DAB
radio stations, so there is no need to set it manually. Just leave your unit on a DAB radio
station for a few minutes and it will nd the correct time.
Manually Setting the Clock
If you are in an area which can’t recieve a DAB signal then you can manually set the clock.
1. In Standby, press the CLOCK button, “CLOCK SET” shows on the display.
2. Press
/ buttons to set the hours. Press the CLOCK button conrm the hours.
3. Press
/ buttons to set the minutes. Press the CLOCK button conrm. The time
is now set.
If your unit detects a DAB radio signal at any time it will automatically correct the time.

Daily Timer
This function allows you to program the unit to automatically switch on from standby at a
certain time everyday.
1. Press and hold TIMER until “ON TIMER“ is displayed.
2. Press
/ repeatedly on the remote control to select the hour you want the unit to
switch on. Press TIMER to conrm.
3. Press
/ repeatedly on the remote control to select the minutes you want the unit
to switch on. Press TIMER to conrm.
4. Press
/ repeatedly on the remote control to select the hour you want the unit to
switch o. Press TIMER to conrm.
5. Press
/ repeatedly on the remote control to select the minutes you want the unit
to switch o. Press TIMER to conrm.
6. Press
/ repeatedly on the remote control to select the source you want the unit
to switch on in. Press TIMER to conrm.
• If no button is pressed in 9 seconds, the unit exits timer setting mode automatically.
• If CD or USB source is selected and the audio cannot be played because a CD or USB device isn’t
inserted then the unit will default to FM mode automatically.
• If you select DISC this is CD mode and will play a CD when the timer activates, remember to insert a CD
into the CD tray before setting the timer.
• If you select USB make sure your USB device is connected before setting the timer.
• If the power is disconnected the timer will be lost.
7. Press / repeatedly on the remote control to select the volume level you want the
unit to switch on at. Press TIMER to conrm.
8. Now all you need to do is set the timer to ON. Press TIMER until you see ‘TIMER ON’ on
the screen.
When you activate the timer the timer symbol
will show in the display when the unit is
in standby.
To Deactivate or Re-activate a Daily Timer
Repeatedly press TIMER on the remote control to activate or deactivate the timer.

DAB Radio Operation
Make sure you have fully extended the aerial. Press the MODE button to select DAB source.
“DAB Radio” will breiy appear on the display.
1. The rst time the unit is switched on to DAB mode the unit will automatically start
scanning. The display will show “SCANNING”.
2. After the scan has nished, the rst alphanumerically found station will be
automatically selected.
3. All the stations that have been found will be stored automatically. To explore the found
stations, press
/ . When you see the station that you would like to listen to press
the ENTER button, the station will play.
• To select a station using the unit, turn the TUNING/ENTER dial to scroll through the stations then
press the TUNING/ENTER dial the select the station.
Scanning for DAB stations
You can scan for new stations at any time. Before performing a scan make sure your aerial is
fully extended.
1. Press SCAN
/ or in the menu select FULL SCAN. The display will show “SCANNING” then
indicate the progress of the scan.
2. Once the scan is complete the unit will display the total number of stations found. These
stations are stored automatically and the rst alphanumerically found station will play.

Manual Tuning
You can also manually tune the unit, which can help if you know your unit has missed
stations while performing a SCAN. You will need to know which multiplex the missing radio
station is in.
1. Press MENU, press
to select MANUAL TUNE.
2. Press ENTER, then press
/ to cycle through each DAB multiplex, which are
numbered from 5A to 13F.
3. After your desired multiplex number is selected, press the ENTER button to conrm,
the display will now show the selected multiplex and store any radio stations found on
it.
4. You won’t see any new radio stations or hear anything while in manual tune mode.
To nd the newly tuned in stations, search through the station list. Press MENU to exit.
Secondary Services
If you see a “>” symbol after the name of a station, this indicates that there are secondary
services available to that station. These secondary services contain extra services that are
related to the primary station. e.g. a sports station may want to add extra commentaries.
The secondary services are inserted directly after the primary station in the station list.
For a secondary channel to be found during an auto scan it must be broadcasting when the
scan takes place.
To select a secondary service press MENU when the “>” symbol appears in the display. When the
secondary service ends, the unit will automatically switch back to the primary station.
Presetting Stations
You can store up to 30 stations to the memory, allowing access to your favourite stations
quickly and easily.
1. To store a preset, you must rst be listening to the
station that you want to save.
2. Press and hold PRESET/MEM to activate program
mode. The display will show “Save to P#”.
3. Press PRESET/FOLDER
/ to select the desired
station preset number.
4. Press ENTER to store the station.
Recalling a Preset Station
To select a preset station press the PRESET/MEM button then the PRESET/FOLDER /
buttons to select the preset station number. With the preset station number selected press
the ENTER button. The unit will automatically change the the selected preset station.
• The stations stored in the preset numbers will be saved into your units memory and will not be erased
it the power is switched o.
• Storing a station in a position that has already been used will delete the original station.

DAB Information Display
You can view the DAB service information in the following modes. Depending on the DAB
radio station you are tuned into, some information modes may be unavailable. Press the
INFO button repeatedly on the remote control to view the following information.
DLS (Dynamic Label Segment)
Dynamic label segment is a scrolling message that
the broadcaster may include with their transmissions.
The message usually includes information, such as
programme details etc.
Signal Strength
This shows the signal strength, from 0 (no signal)
to 100 (full strength signal).
Programme Type
This describes the style or genre of the programme
that is being broadcast.
Ensemble Name
A multiplex is a collection of radio stations that are
bundled and transmitted on one frequency. There
are national and local multiplexes. Local ones contain
stations that are specic to that area.
DAB – unlike normal radio, groups together several radio
stations and transmits them on one frequency.
Frequency
This shows the frequency of the current multiplex.
Signal Error
This displays the amout of errors on the signal.
Audio Bit Rate
The display will show the digital audio bit rate being
received.
Time
This displays the current time provided automatically
by the broadcaster.
Date
This displays the current date provided automatically
by the broadcaster.

DRC (Dynamic Range Compression)
If you are listening to music with high dynamic range in a noisy environment, you may wish
to compress the audio dynamic range.
1. Press MENU, then press
to highlight DRC then press ENTER.
2. Press
to select DRC high/low/o and press ENTER button to conrm.
Pruning Radio Stations
If you have moved your unit and tuned it in, in multiple locations you might ne that it has
stored radio stalions that are now weak. By selecting PRUNE you can delete all the weak
stations.
1. Press MENU, then press
to highlight PRUNE then press ENTER.

Software Version
To check your software version press MENU, then press to highlight SW VERSION then
press ENTER. The Software version can be accessed in the DAB and FM menus.

Manual Tuning
Press / repeatedly to change the frequency until you nd the station you want, or
turn the TUNING/ENTER dial on the unit.
FM Radio Operation
• Make sure the aerial is fully extended, away from any electrical devices that
could cause interference.
• If reception is still poor, try to adjust the FM/DAB aerial location.
The search may not stop at a station with a very weak signal.
With FM radio it may be necessary to ne tune each station by pressing / repeatedly. Each press will
adjust the frequency by 0.05MHz. If reception is still poor adjust the position of the aerial or try moving
the unit to another location.
Press the MODE button to select FM RADIO source. The words “FM RADIO” will be briey be
displayed.
Tuning in a Station
Auto Tuning
Press SCAN / , the unit will automatically tune to the next available radio station. To scan in
the opposite direction press and hold the SCAN
/ button.
Scan Settings
You can set your unit to scan for the strongest stations or all stations.
1. Press MENU, SCAN SETTINGS will appear in the display then press ENTER.
2. Press
/ to select either STRONG STATIONS ONLY or ALL STATIONS then press
ENTER. Now when you scan for radio stations your unit will nd what the type of
stations you selected.

Presetting Stations
You can store up to 30 stations to the memory, allowing access to your favourite stations
quickly and easily.
1. To store a preset, you must rst be listening to the
station that you want to save.
2. Press and hold PRESET/MEM to activate program
mode. The display will show “Save to P#”.
3. Press PRESET/FOLDER
/ to select the desired
station preset number.
4. Press ENTER to store the station.
Recalling a Preset Station
To select a preset station press the PRESET/MEM button then the PRESET/FOLDER /
buttons to select the preset station number. With the preset station number selected press
the ENTER button. The unit will automatically change the the selected preset station.

FM Information Display
Many FM stations broadcast additional service information. Depending on the FM radio
station you are tuned into, some information may be unavailable. Press the INFO button
repeatedly to view the additional information.
Radio Text
This is a scrolling message displaying information
about the current programme.
PTY (Programme Type)
This describes the “Style” or “Genre” of music that is
being broadcast, e.g. “Rock” or “Classical”.
Frequency
This displays the frequency of the present radio
station.
Audio Type
This displays if the current station being received in
mono.
Time
This displays the current time provided automatically
by the broadcaster.
Date
This displays the current date provided automatically
by the broadcaster.

You may nd when listening to week FM radio stations that changes the audio mode may
make the sound clearer.
• Press the MONO/STEREO button to change from MONO to STEREO. You can also select
STEREO ALLOWED or FORCED MONO in the Audio settings menu (MENU - AUDIO
SETTINGS).

track on the CD will automatically start to play.

Repeat Playback

Random Playback
Press the SHUFFLE button to play tracks in a random order. The word “RANDOM” will
appear in the display. To go back to normal playback press the SHUFFLE button again.
Intro Playback
If you would like to listen to the introduction of each track press the INTRO button. The rst
10 seconds of each track will be played.
Programme Play (Audio CD)
You can programme up to 32 tracks to play in any desired order.
1. Make sure there is a disc inserted and is not playing (stopped).
2. Press MEM/PRESET to enter the programme mode. The display will show “P-01 / T-01”.
3. Press
/ to select the desired track number.
4. Press MEM/PRESET to store.
5. Repeat steps 3-4 to programme more tracks.
6. Once this is completed, press the
button to start programme play.
7. Press
once to stop the programme playing. Press twice to clear programme.
Opening and closing the CD tray will cancel the program and erase the memory.

USB Operation
By connecting a USB mass storage device (including
USB ash memory, USB ash players) to this unit, you
can enjoy the device’s stored music through the unit.
1. Insert the USB device into the USB socket at the
front of unit.
2. Press the MODE button on the unit repeatedly
to select USB source or press USB on the remote
control. The word “USB” will be shown on the
display.
If the USB device hasn’t been recognised try
un-plugging it and plugging it in again.
3. Press the
PRESET/FOLDER buttons to select a
folder.
4. All other playback features are the same as if
you were playing a CD.

• The unit may not be compatible with all USB devices, this is not an indication of a problem with the

The USB port is designed only for charging mobile devices (e.g. MP3 player, mobile phone,
etc). It supplies 5V DC at a charging current of up to 1A.
Use a USB cable (not included) to connect mobile device to the USB port of the unit and
the mobile device will start charging.

AUX Operation
By connecting an auxiliary device to this unit, you can enjoy the device’s stored music
through the unit.
1. Press the MODE button repeatedly to select the AUX source. The words “AUX” will be
showed on the display.
2. Operate your audio device directly for playback features.
3. Press VOLUME +/– to adjust the volume to your desired level.
4-hour playback:
• If the unit is in AUX mode more than 4 hours, it will automatically switch to standby mode.
• 10 minutes before entering standby, “AUTO OFF” will ash on the display.
• While “AUTO OFF’ is ashing press INTRO to cancel auto o function and continue using your unit.
After cancelling “AUTO OFF” if no other buttons are pressed the unit will automatically switch o in
another 4 hours.

• The operational range between the unit and the device is approximately 8 metres.
• Before connecting a Bluetooth® device to the unit, ensure you know the device’s capabilities.
• Compatibility with all Bluetooth® devices is not guaranteed.
• Any obstacle between the device and the unit can reduce operational range.
• Keep this player away from other electronic devices that may cause interference.
• The player will also be disconnected when your device is moved beyond the operational range.
System Reset
There may be times when you need to reset your unit back to the factory settings,
especially if you have moved house or if you experience reception problems.
If you move to another part of the country and pick up the local and national DAB stations
in that area, your previously tuned channels may no longer be available.
1. Ensure the unit is switched on.
2. Press the MODE button repeatedly and select DAB mode.
3. Press the
button to open the CD tray.
4. With the unit in DAB mode and the CD tray open press and hold the MONO/STEREO
button. The unit will now reset itself. Once it has reset it will automatically start to scan
for DAB radio stations.
Bluetooth® Operation
Pair the unit with a Bluetooth® device to listen to music:
1. Press the MODE button to select the Bluetooth® mode. The words “BT LINK” will ash
on the display.
2. Activate your Bluetooth® device and select search mode. “RD-D90” will appear on your
Bluetooth® device list.
3. Select “RD-D90” and enter the password “0000” if necessary. If the connection is
successful the unit will make a beep sound.
4. To disconnect a Bluetooth® device, either switch to another function or disable
the function from your Bluetooth® device. The unit will make a beep sound when
disconnected and “BT LINK” will ash in the display.
If your Bluetooth
® device supports A2DP, playback and control (Skip/Search, Pause/Play and
volume) music via your device.
If your Bluetooth
® device supports AVRCP, use supplied you can also use the remote control
to control playback.

Using Headphones
1. Connect headphones (not included) to the headphone socket.
2. Always set the volume level to minimum then slowly increase the volume to obtain the
desired volume level.
3. When the headphones are connected, the sound to the speaker will be muted.

Cleaning the Unit
Ensure the unit is fully unplugged from the mains socket before cleaning.
• To clean, wipe the cases with a slightly moist, lint-free cloth.
• Do not use any cleaning uids containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.

Cleaning the Speakers
Use a dampened soft cloth or paper towel to clean the cabinet. The grill is best cleaned by
brushing it o with a lint-free cloth.
Handling Discs
• Do not touch the playback side of the disc.
• Do not attach paper or tape to the disc.

• Fingerprints and dust on
the disc cause picture and

• Storing discs vertically in a case, stacking discs or placing objects on discs outside of
their cases may cause warping.

No power. • Ensure the mains plug is connected.
• Make sure that you select the ON mode.
The remote control is
not functioning.
• Use the remote control near the unit.
• Point the remote control at the remote sensor on the unit.
• Replace the battery in the remote control with a new one.
• Remove any obstacles between the remote control and
the unit.
No sound from the unit. Try one of the solutions below:
• Make sure that the unit is not muted. Press the
