addition, foreign objects may obstruct
the internal pumping mechanism, prevent-

How to Use
Before using the Air pot for the first time or if the Air pot has not been used for a long time, boil
some water and press the push button several times. This water should be discarded. When you
first use the Air pot, a slight smell of plastic may be noticed but this will gradually fade with use.

Once the water has boiled, the "208" KEEP WARM lamp Illuminates.
• Do not open the upper lid while the BOIL lamp is illuminated (this may cause scalds).
• Do not block the steam vent with a dish cloth

Cleaning and Maintenance
Before cleaning the Air pot.always disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet.
Pour out remaining hot water and allow to cool.
Discoloration of
the
inner container
and
white
particles
floating in
the
water.
Reddish rust spots (stains), discoloration with milky
or
dark deposits, and white floating particles are generated
from water ingredients (minerals), and are not due to discoloration or corrosion
of
the container
itseH.
Although
these phenomena are not harmful to your health, regular cleaning is highly recommended.
Cleaning the Inner container
and
inner
lid
Condition
of
stain varies depending on the water quality and frequency
of
use. Regular cleaning is
recommended. Clean the inner container every one to three months with citric acid.
■
If
the
container
is
stained
with
deposits,
the
boillng
sound
may
become
louder
or
hot
water
may
not
pour
out
smoothly.
Keep

Air
pot
clean
by
following
the
procedures

* When using alkali ion water, frequent cleaning is recommended as calcium in the water is likely to
adhere to the inner container.
* Although the inner container is coated with nonstick fluorine, it will not remain completely free from
discoloration if you do not clean it for a long time.

To
change
the
rubber
seal
of
the
inner
lid
The rubber seal on the inner lid is a consumable item. Check it about once a year. If damaged,
replace with a new rubber seal.
When replacing the rubber seal, check the model number and purchase a new rubber seal at the
store where you purchased the product. Or contact the nearest authorized service center.

Before calling for service

Unplug
the
power
cord

and
the
receptacle
and

smoothly.
The
upper
lid
is
not
closed.
Close
the
upper
lid
securely.
The
inner
lid
rubber
seal
is
not
correctly
set.
Set
the inner
lid
rubber

damaged.
Replace the inner
lid
rubber
seal.

Hot water overflows
from
the spout.
The
water level
exceeds
the
full
water guide
mark.
Reduce
the
amount
of
water
until
it
is
below
the

White deposits

in
the water
being

Deposits
are
formed
by
the
mineral
content
of
the
water
you
are
using.
They
are
not
due
to
corrosion
of
the
inner
container

peeling

nonstick

A loud sound is
heard during boiling.
If there
are
deposits adhering
to
the inner container, the boiling
sound
becomes
louder.
Keep
warm
and
Boil
lamps illuminate
simultaneously.
The
safety auto-shut off function
has turned
ON
because the
water level
is
low
or
hot
water
is
added.

Unplug
the
Air pot
and add
water after
the
inner container
has
cooled
down.
Condition Cause
When
opening
and
closing
the
upper
lid,
it
makes
a
clattering
sound.
This clattering
sound
is
generated
by
the
ball
moving
in
the upper
lid.
The
ball
is built
in
the
lid
to
prevent spillage of
hot
water
when
the Air
pot
is
accidentally tilted
over.
The
sound
is
normal.
Hot
water
has
a
disagreeable
odor.
The
odor
of
disinfectant
chlorine
in
the
tap
water
may
be
left
in
some
cases.
When
you
first
use
the Air
pot,
a slight
smell
of plastic
may
be
noticed
but
this will gradually
fade
with
use.

In the following cases, the safety auto-shut off function turns ON and cuts off power to the heater
in
order to prevent a failure due to overheating. The· Keep warm and Boil lamps illuminate
simultaneously to signal that the safety auto-shut off function is ON.
Cause
• When the Air pot is plugged
in
with no water
in
the inner container
eWhen the water level is below the refill mark
eWhen unused hot water is left or the upper lid is kept open to refill water
• When boiled water is poured into the inner container
Corrective action
Pour water after the inner container has completely cooled.
