5. OPERATION
NOTE: The stand needs to be used in conjunction with suitable external motorcycle support to ensure full stability.
Although the support stand can be operated by one person, we advise seeking the assistance of a second person. A concrete
deck working area is recommended (tarmacadam may become unstable).
5.1. SUPPORT STAND PLACEMENT
5.1.1. With the foot pedal vertical (fig.1) and the platform at minimum height, slide the stand beneath the point to be lifted. Choose a point with
mechanical integrity.
5.1.2. Check the load bearing support bars will not crush or deform cables, pipes, exhaust or panels.
5.1.3. With external support options available, slowly raise the motorcycle wheels off the firm, level, surface using the foot pedal (fig.2). If stiction
occurs in the linkage at the start of the lift additional force may be required.
IMPORTANT! Ensure that the foot pedal travels full stroke to obtain the “over centre” locking of the toggle linkage. This is a
safety feature which mechanically locks the lift at full height preventing accidental descent.
5.1.4. Check that the motorcycle is stable on the stand and suitably supported before servicing or leaving it.
5.2. REMOVING ThE STAND.
5.2.1. Continuing to support the motorcycle, lift the pedal slightly to release the “over centre” mechanical lock, once this occurs the weight of
the motorcycle may be enough to slowly lower to the concrete deck. A pin jointed damper connected to platform and base frame
ensures slow controlled descent.
5.2.2. When descent is complete slide the stand away from beneath the motorcycle.
