SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent

or similar qualied person in order to avoid

hazard.

• Consult repair manual or owner’s guide before

attempting to service this product. All safety

precautions must be followed.

• Dispose of properly in accordance with federal

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance must be grounded. Grounding

reduces the risk of electrical shock by providing an

escape wire for the electrical current.

This appliance has a cord that has a grounding

wire with a 3-prong plug. The power cord must be

plugged into an outlet that is properly grounded.

If the outlet is a 2-prong wall outlet, it must be

replaced with a properly grounded 3-prong wall

outlet. The serial rating plate indicates the voltage

and frequency the appliance is designed for.

WARNING - Improper use of the grounding

plug can result in a risk of electric shock.

Consult a qualied electrician or service agent

if the grounding instructions are not completely

understood, or if doubt exists as to whether the

appliance is properly grounded.

Do not connect your appliance to extension

cords or together with another appliance in the

same wall outlet. Do not splice the power cord.

Do not under any circumstances cut or remove the

third ground prong from the power cord. Do not

use extension cords or ungrounded (two prongs)

adapters.

LOCATION

• Two people should be used when moving the

appliance.

• Remove interior and exterior packaging prior to

installation. Wipe the outside of the appliance

with a soft, dry cloth and the inside with a

lukewarm wet cloth.

• Place the appliance on a oor that is strong

enough to support it when it is fully loaded.

• Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight or

near sources of heat, such as a stove or heater,

as this can increase electrical consumption.

Extreme cold ambient temperatures may also

cause the appliance to perform improperly.

• Do not use the appliance near water, for

example in a wet basement or near a sink.

• This appliance is intended for indoor household

and garage use only. Freezers are tested to

perform in temperatures ranging from 0°F to

110°F (-17°C to 43°C). It is not designed for

outside installation, including anywhere that

is not temperature controlled such as porches,

vehicles, etc.

• Before connecting the appliance to a power

source, let it stand upright for approximately

6 hours. This will reduce the possibility of a

malfunction in the cooling system from handling

during transportation.

• This appliance is 71.0 cm (28 inches) wide by

172.8 cm (68 inches) high by 70.9 cm (27.9

inches) deep.

• Allow 12.7 cm (5 inches) of space between the

back, sides and top of the appliance and all

adjacent walls.

• This appliance is intended for free-standing

installation only and is not intended to be

built into a cabinet or counter. Building in this

appliance can cause it to malfunction.

LEVELING INSTRUCTIONS

There are two adjustable feet on the bottom of the

appliance that can be turned up or down to ensure

that the appliance is level.

1. Turn the adjustable foot counter-clockwise as far

as it will go, until the top of the foot is touching

the bottom of the cabinet.

2. Slowly turn the adjustable foot clockwise until

the appliance is level.

INSTALLATION OF BUMPER BLOCKS

The appliance is supplied with bumper blocks which

must be attached to the rear as shown below.

• Remove the bumper blocks from the accessory

bag

• Remove the screws from the lower rear panel of

the appliance

• Secure the bumper blocks with the screws

Temperature Display

Displays current temperatur of unit. If display reads

“Lc” the control panel is locked.

Mode Buttons

Pressing the mode button will cycle the unit through

the available settings.

Mode Display

Indicates in which mode the unit is operating.

The backlight of the corresponding mode will be

illuminated.

Fridge

Temperature range 32°F ~ 46°F (0°C ~ 8°C)

Subzero

Temperature range 18°F ~ 25°F (-8°C ~ -4°C)

Freeze

Temperature range -11°F ~ 7°F (-24°C ~ -14°C)

Fast Freeze

Temperature -18°F (-28°C)

NOTE

The appliance will automatically exit the FAST

FREEZE mode after 26 hours and return to the last

set temperature.

Temperature Up and Down Buttons

Use the up and down buttons to raise or lower the

set temperature.

°F/°C Set Button

Allows the unit to be set to display the temperature

in Farenheit (°F) or Celcius (°C). Pressing the °F/ °C

button will change the temperature display.

Lock Icon

The control panel default mode is unlocked. Press

and hold the °F/ °C button for 3 seconds to lock or

unlock the control panel manually.

CLEANING

Ensure the appliance is unplugged before cleaning.

• To clean the inside of the appliance, use a

soft cloth and a solution of one tablespoon of

baking soda to one quart of water or some mild

detergent.

• Wash removable shelves in a mild detergent

solution, then dry and wipe with a soft cloth.

• Clean the outside with a soft, damp cloth and

some mild detergent.

• It is important to keep the area clean where the

door seals against the cabinet. Clean this area

with a soapy cloth. Rinse with a damp cloth and

let dry.

Note: Do not use cleaners containing ammonia or

alcohol on the appliance. Ammonia or alcohol can

damage the appearance of the appliance. Never

use any commercial or abrasive cleaners or sharp

objects on any part of the appliance.

POWER FAILURE

Most power failures are corrected within a few

hours and should not aect the temperature of your

appliance if you minimize the number of times the

door is opened. If the power is going to be o for

a longer period of time, take the proper steps to

protect your contents.

Note: Wait 3 to 5 minutes before attempting

to restart the refrigerator if operation has been

interrupted.

DEFROST

This unit is equipped with an automatic defrost

function and does not require manual defrosting.

Defrost water from the appliance is channeled

into a drip tray located in the compressor room.

Heat transfer from the evaporating pipe causes the

defrost water to evaporate.

VACATION

• Short vacations: Leave the appliance operating

during vacations of less than three weeks.

• Long vacations: If the appliance will not be used

for several months, remove all items and turn

o the appliance. Clean and dry the interior

thoroughly. To prevent odor and mold growth,

leave the door open slightly, blocking it open if

necessary.

MOVING

• Remove all items.

• Securely tape down all shelves.

• Turn the adjustable feet up to the base to avoid

damage.

• Tape the door shut.

• Ensure the appliance stays in the upright

position during transportation. Protect the

outside of the appliance with a blanket.

• If the appliance is placed on its back or side

during transportation, upon reaching the

destination, allow it to remain upright for 6 hours

before plugging in to avoid damage to internal

components.

DISPOSAL

This appliance may not be treated as regular

household waste, it should be taken to the

appropriate waste collection point for recycling

of electrical components. For information on local

waste collection points, contact your local waste

removal agency or government oce.

ERROR CODES

• E1: Temperature sensor failure

• E2: Defrosting sensor failure

• E3: Both defrosting sensor and temperature

sensor failure

• C0: Communication failure

• dr: Door not closed alarm

• H1: Defrosting heater failure alarm

To clear all error codes, unplug the appliance and

let it stand undisturbed for 5 minutes, then plug it

back in. If the error code persists, contact consumer

care for further troubleshooting.

TROUBLESHOOTING

No power

• A fuse may be blown or the circuit breaker tripped

• Plug not fully inserted into the wall outlet

Internal temperature not cold enough

• Temperature setting is too warm

• The door or lid is not shut properly or opened excessively

• Recently added a large quantity of warm food to the cabinet

• Close proximity to heat source or direct sunlight

• Ambient temperature or humidity is very high

Freezer runs continuously

• Temperature setting is too cold

• The door or lid is not shut properly or opened excessively

• Recently added a large quantity of warm food to the cabinet

• Close proximity to heat source or direct sunlight

• Ambient temperature or humidity is very high

Freezer makes a gurgling noise when operating

• This noise is completely normal. The refrigerant inside the appliance will make a gurgling noise as it

changes from a liquid to a gas and back again.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the standard wattage and amps used?

This information can be found on the rating plate located on the back of the cabinet.

How much does it cost to run the freezer?

Please refer to the energy guide.

Can I use an extension cord?

No, an extension cord may not be used.

I am having trouble opening the door or lid; why?

The freezer door or lid may be dicult to open immediately after closing it. This is normal and is due to

the pressure dierence between the cold interior of the freezer and the warm air that has just entered the

freezer when it was opened. The pressure will equalize within a few minutes.

LIMITED IN-HOME APPLIANCE WARRANTY

This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating

conditions intended by the manufacturer.

This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter

“Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.

TERMS OF WARRANTY

Plastic parts, are warranted for thirty (30) days only from purchase date, with no extensions provided.

First Year

During the rst twelve (12) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or replaced, at warrantor’s

option, at no charge to the ORIGINAL purchaser.

to persons or property, including the unit itself, howsoever caused or any consequential damages arising from the malfunction o f the unit and by the purchase of

the unit, the purchaser does hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Danby from any claim for damages to persons or propert y caused by the unit.

INSTRUCTIONS DE MISE À LA TERRE

Cet appareil doit être mis à la terre. La mise à la terre réduit le risque de choc électrique en fournissant un l

d’échappement pour le courant électrique.

Cet appareil possède un cordon doté d’un l de mise à la terre avec une che à 3 broches. Le cordon

d’alimentation doit être branché sur une prise correctement mise à la terre. Si la sortie est une prise murale à

2 broches, elle doit être remplacée par une prise murale à 3 broches correctement mise à la terre. La plaque

signalétique en série indique la tension et la fréquence auxquelles l’appareil est conçu.

AVERTISSEMENT - Une utilisation incorrecte de la che de mise à la terre peut entraîner un risque

d’électrocution. Consultez un électricien qualié ou un agent de service si les instructions de mise à la terre

ne sont pas complètement comprises ou s’il existe un doute quant à savoir si l’appareil est correctement mis

à la terre.

Ne branchez pas votre appareil à des rallonges ou avec un autre appareil dans la même prise murale. Ne

pas épisser le cordon d’alimentation. Ne coupez ou retirez en aucun cas la troisième broche du cordon

d’alimentation. N’utilisez pas de cordons de prolongement ou d’adaptateurs sans mise à la terre (deux

broches).

Si le cordon d’alimentation est endommagé, il doit être remplacé par le fabricant, son agent de service ou

une personne qualiée similaire an d’éviter tout risque.

EMPLACEMENT

• Deux personnes doivent être utilisées lors du

déplacement de l’appareil.

• Enlever l’emballage intérieur et extérieur avant

l’installation. Essuyez l’extérieur de l’appareil

avec un chion doux et sec et l’intérieur avec un

chion humide tiède.

• Placez l’appareil sur un sol susamment solide

pour le supporter lorsqu’il est complètement

chargé.

• Ne placez pas l’appareil à la lumière directe

du soleil ou à proximité de sources de chaleur,

telles qu’une cuisinière ou un radiateur, car cela

peut augmenter la consommation électrique.

Des températures ambiantes froides extrêmes

peuvent également empêcher l’appareil de

fonctionner correctement.

• N’utilisez pas l’appareil près de l’eau, par

exemple dans un sous-sol humide ou près d’un

évier.

• Cet appareil est destiné à un usage domestique

et garage uniquement. Les congélateurs sont

testés pour fonctionner à des températures

allant de 0°F à 110°F (-17°C à 43°C). Il n’est

pas conçu pour une installation à l’extérieur,

y compris partout où la température n’est pas

contrôlée comme les porches, les véhicules, etc.

• Avant de brancher l’appareil à une source

d’alimentation, laissez-le reposer pendant

environ 6 heures. Cela réduira la possibilité

d’un dysfonctionnement du système de

refroidissement lors de la manipulation pendant

le transport.

• Cet appareil mesure 71,0 cm (28 po) de largeur

sur 172,8 cm (68 po) de hauteur sur 70,9 cm (27,9

po) de profondeur.

• Laisser 12,7 cm (5 pouces) d’espace entre le

dos, les côtés et le haut de l’appareil et tous les

murs adjacents.

• Cet appareil est destiné uniquement à une

installation autonome et n’est pas conçu pour

être intégré dans une armoire ou un comptoir.

INSTRUCTIONS DE NIVELLEMENT

Il y a deux pieds réglables sur le bas de l’appareil

qui peut être tourné vers le haut ou vers le bas pour

s’assurer que l’appareil est de niveau.

1. Tournez le pied réglable dans le sens inverse des

aiguilles d’une montre aussi loin que possible,

jusqu’à ce que le haut du pied touche le fond de

l’armoire.

2. Tournez lentement le pied réglable dans le

sens des aiguilles d’une montre jusqu’à ce que

l’appareil soit de niveau.

INSTALLATION DES BLOCS DE PARE-CHOCS

L’appareil est fourni avec des butoirs qui doivent être

xés à l’arrière comme indiqué ci-dessous.

• Retirer les blocs pare-chocs du sac d’accessoires

• Retirer les vis du panneau arrière inférieur de

l’appareil

• Fixer les blocs pare-chocs à l’aide des vis

Achage de la température

Ache la température actuelle de l’appareil. Si

l’écran ache “Lc”, le panneau de commande est

verrouillé.

les réglages disponibles.

Indique le mode de fonctionnement de l’appareil. Le

rétroéclairage du mode correspondant s’allume.

NOTE

L’appareil quitte automatiquement le mode de

congélation rapide au bout de 26 heures et revient à

la dernière température réglée.

Boutons de hausse et de baisse de

température

Les touches haut et bas permettent d’augmenter ou

de diminuer la température de consigne.

Bouton de réglage °F/°C

Permet de régler l’appareil pour qu’il ache la

température en degrés Farenheit (°F) ou Celcius (°C).

Une pression sur la touche °F/ °C modie l’achage

de la température.

Icône de verrouillage

Le mode par défaut du panneau de commande est

déverrouillé. Appuyez sur la touche °F/ °C pendant

3 secondes pour verrouiller ou déverrouiller

manuellement le panneau de commande.

NETTOYAGE

Assurez-vous que l’appareil est débranché avant de

nettoyer une partie de l’appareil.

• Pour nettoyer l’intérieur de l’appareil, utilisez

un chion doux et une solution d’une cuillère à

soupe de bicarbonate de soude à un quart d’eau

ou un détergent doux.

• Lavez les tablettes amovibles dans une solution

détergente douce, puis séchez et essuyez avec

un chion doux.

• Nettoyez l’extérieur avec un chion doux et

humide et un peu de détergent doux.

• Il est important de garder la région de scellement

de la porte sur l’armoire propre. Nettoyez avec un

tissu savonneux, rincez le région et puis séchez.

Remarque: N’utilisez pas de produits nettoyants

comprenant de l’ammoniaque ou de l’alcool sur

l’appareil. L’ammoniaque ou l’alcool peuvent altérer

le ni de l’appareil. N’utilisez jamais de nettoyant

industriels sur aucune partie de votre appareil.

PANNE DE COURANT

La plupart des pannes de courant ne durent que

quelques heures et ne devraient pas modier la

température de votre l’appareil si vous réduisez au

maximum le nombre de fois où la porte est ouverte.

Si le courant reste coupé pendant une longue

période. il faut prendre des mesures de protection

du contenu de l’appareil.

Remarque: Attendez 3 à 5 minutes avant d’essayer

de redémarrer le réfrigérateur si l’opération a été

interrompue.

DÉGIVRER

Cet appareil est équipé d’une fonction de dégivrage

automatique et ne nécessite pas de dégivrage

manuel. L’eau de dégivrage de l’appareil est

acheminée vers un bac de récupération situé dans

la salle des compresseurs. Le transfert de chaleur du

tuyau d’évaporation entraîne l’évaporation de l’eau

de dégivrage.

Pour eacer tous les codes d’erreur, débranchez

l’appareil et laissez-le reposer pendant 5 minutes,

puis rebranchez-le. Si le code d’erreur persiste,

contactez le service à la clientèle pour un dépannage

plus approfondi.

SOINS ET ENTRETIEN

VACANCES

• Courtes vacances: Laissez le unité fonctionner

pendant les vacances durant moins de trois

semaines.

• Longues vacances: Si l’unité ne doit pas être

utilisé pendant plusieurs mois, retirez tout ce

qu’il contient et mettez-le hors tension. Nettoyez

et asséchez à fond l’intérieur. Pour éviter les

odeurs et le développement de moisissures,

laissez la porte entrouverte, la coincer au

besoin.

DÉMÉNAGER

• Retirez tout ce qu’il contient.

• Sécuriser toutes les étagères avec du ruban

adhésif.

• Tournez les pieds réglable jusqu’à la base pour

éviter tout dommage.

• Fixez la porte avec du ruban adhésif.

• Assurez-vous que l’appareil reste en position

verticale pendant le transport. Protégez

l’extérieur de l’appareil avec une couverture.

• Si l’appareil est placé sur le dos ou sur le côté

pendant le transport, en arrivant à destination,

laissez-le reposer pendant 6 heures avant de

le brancher pour éviter d’endommager les

composants internes.

ÉLIMINATION DES DÉCHETS

Ce produit ne doit pas être traité comme un déchet

domestique ordinaire, il doit être transporté au

point de collecte approprié pour le recyclage

des composants électriques. Pour obtenir des

renseignements sur les points de collecte des déchets

locaux, communiquez avec votre agence locale

Le congélateur fait un gargouillis lors de son fonctionnement

• Ce bruit est tout à fait normal. Le réfrigérant à l’intérieur de l’appareil émettra un gargouillis lorsqu’il

passe d’un liquide à un gaz et vice-versa.

J’ai du mal à ouvrir la porte ou le couvercle; Pourquoi?

La porte ou le couvercle du congélateur peut être dicile à ouvrir immédiatement après sa fermeture. Ceci

est normal et est dû à la diérence de pression entre l’intérieur froid du congélateur et l’air chaud qui vient

d’entrer dans le congélateur lors de son ouverture. La pression s’égalisera en quelques minutes.

This quality product is warranted to be free from manufacturer’s defects in material and workmanship, provided that the unit is used under the normal operating

conditions intended by the manufacturer.

This warranty is available only to the person to whom the unit was originally sold by Danby Products Limited (Canada) or Danby Products Inc. (U.S.A.) (hereafter

“Danby”) or by an authorized distributor of Danby, and is non-transferable.

TERMS OF WARRANTY

Plastic parts, are warranted for thirty (30) days only from purchase date, with no extensions provided.

First Year

During the rst twelve (12) months, any functional parts of this product found to be defective, will be repaired or replaced, at warrantor’s

option, at no charge to the ORIGINAL purchaser.

obligations of Danby under this warranty shall be void.

EXCLUSIONS

Save as herein provided, Danby, there are no other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, express or implied, m ade or intended by Danby or its

authorized distributors and all other warranties, conditions, representations or guarantees, including any warranties, conditio ns, representations or guarantees

under any Sale of Goods Act or like legislation or statue is hereby expressly excluded. Save as herein provided, Danby shall no t be responsible for any damages

to persons or property, including the unit itself, howsoever caused or any consequential damages arising from the malfunction o f the unit and by the purchase of

the unit, the purchaser does hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Danby from any claim for damages to persons or propert y caused by the unit.

GENERAL PROVISIONS

No warranty or insurance herein contained or set out shall apply when damage or repair is caused by any of the following:

1) Power failure.

2) Damage in transit or when moving the appliance.

3) Improper power supply such as low voltage, defective house wiring or inadequate fuses.

4) Accident, alteration, abuse or misuse of the appliance such as inadequate air circulation in the room or abnormal operating con ditions

(extremely high or low room temperature).

5) Use for commercial or industrial purposes (ie. If the appliance is not installed in a domestic residence).

6) Fire, water damage, theft, war, riot, hostility, acts of God such as hurricanes, oods etc.

7) Service calls resulting in customer education.

8) Improper Installation (ie. Building-in of a free standing appliance or using an appliance outdoors that is not approved for out door application).

Proof of purchase date will be required for warranty claims; so, please retain bills of sale. In the event warranty service is required, present this document to our

AUTHORIZED SERVICE DEPOT.

Warranty Service

In-home

Danby se réserve le droit de ﬁxer des limites géographiques au « service à domicile » selon la proximité d’un centre
