9SECTION 4 — CONTROLS & OPERATION
Using the Water Pump
1. Stretch the discharge hose end to where you
would like the water to go. Remove any kinks.
2. Insert the suction hose strainer end into the
water source you wish to pump water out of.
See Figure 4-8.
Note: For extra stability you may wish to
swing the FLEX™ Power Base handles down
and tighten the two side knobs in order to use
the handles as a kickstand. Refer to the FLEX
Power Base Operator’s Manual for instructions
on how to swing the handles down.
3. Start the engine in accordance with the
starting instructions in the FLEX™ Power Base
Operator’s Manual.
4. It will take a minute or two to achieve full
flow out of the discharge hose. Be patient.
Re-prime if needed.

After Using the Water Pump
1. Stop the FLEX™ Power Base in accordance
with the stopping instructions in the FLEX
Power Base Operator’s Manual.
2. Disconnect and drain water from the suction
hose and store using the suction hose
storage. See Figure 4-9.

3. Disconnect and drain the discharge hose
by rolling it flat. Then store the discharge
hose using the discharge hose storage.
See Figure 4-9.
4. Empty the water from the pump’s chamber
by removing the water drain plug. Tip the unit
forward to fully drain. See Figure 4-10.
