1. SAFETY
9 Check that the trailer is correctly coupled to the towball or pin - follow the manufacturer’s advice.
9 Check that the coupling height is correct.
9 Check that the 7 or 13 core cable and plug is not damaged.
9 Useabreakawaycableorsecondarycoupling.Thisengagesthetrailer’sbrakes(iftted)orstopsthetrailerifitbecomesdetached
from the car.
9 Check that the cable is not worn or damaged.
9 Check that there’s enough slack in the cable so that it does not accidentally apply the brakes.
9 Check that the cable will not drag on the ground when you’re driving.
9 Follow the manufacturer’s advice to make sure it’s connected correctly.

4. FITTING
4.1. Use BS3692 grade 3 M16 bolts, and grade 8.8 nuts with lockwashers, tighten to 240Nm
