CARE & USE/INSTALLATION
ABOUT FLAMETRAK™
The FLAMETRAK is an ignition and control system that continually monitors the presence of flame, acts to ensure that
flame and closes the gas supply to the valve when flame cannot be verified. FLAMETRAK is present at each burner in
the grill. A FLAMETRAK indicator, placed just above each burner knob, lets the grill user know the flame’s status at a
glance without having to open the grill and look for a flame beneath the grates or briquette trays.
The indicator initially blinks blue when the igniter is starting to light the burner. The indicator is solid blue whenever
the burner is safely ON and flame is present. The indicator is blinking red when there is an error detected and
FLAMRETRAK has shut off the gas to that burner. To reset, simply turn the burner off and back on again.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND THE SAFETY
The FLAMETRAK system is based on flame rectification. Flame rectification is the effect where electrical a current
change from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) as it passes through a flame. If the current does not change,
then FLAMETRAK knows the flame is not present—and it relights the burner or, if it fails to relight, shuts the gas off to
that burner.
Flame rectification is proven technology that many water heaters and other devices use to confirm the presence of a
flame.
THE LYNX ALL TRIDENT GRILL
In 2018, the Lynx All Trident Grill is the first grill to feature the FLAMETRAK safety system. It sets the industry standard in
safety and performance. The FLAMETRAK safety system is patent pending.
