The power supply cord contains a
current device that senses damage
to the power cord. To test your power
supply cord, do the following:
1. Plug in the air conditioner.
2. The power supply cord will have
TWObuttonsontheplughead.Press
theTESTbutton.Youwillnoticea
clickastheRESETbuttonpopsout.
3. Press the RESET button. Again,
youwillnoticeaclickasthebutton
engages.
4. The power supply cord is now
supplyingelectricitytotheunit.(On

must exist.
• Itisnecessarytohaveadequatewallsupportfor
the weight of the air conditioner. The unit weighs

STEP 1:
REMOVE PACKAGING MATERIAL
• Removeanddisposeoforrecyclepackaging
materials. Remove tape and glue residue from
surfaces before installing the air conditioner. Rub a
smallamountofliquidsoapovertheadhesivewith
yourngers.Wipewithwarmwateranddry.
• Donotusesharpinstruments,rubbingalcohol,
ammableuids,orabrasivecleanerstoremove
tape or glue. These products can damage the
surface of your air conditioner.
• Handletheairconditionergently:
1. Remove the air conditioner from the carton and
place it on cardboard.
2. Removeshippingscrew(A)fromeachsideof
thecabinet.(Fig.3)

3. Remove front panel by removing one Phillips
screw(B)fromeachsideofthefrontpanel.Set
screwsasideandsave.(Fig.4)

4. Pullonthehandle(C)toslidetheairconditioner
out of the cabinet. Place the air conditioner on

STEP 2:
ATTACH TOP CHANNEL
Attach the top channel and side curtains to the air
conditioner cabinet before placing the cabinet in the
window.(Fig.6)
1. Locate provided bag of screws.
2. Place the top channel on top of the air conditioner
cabinet, lining up the three holes in the top channel
with the three holes on top of the air conditioner
cabinet.
3. Usingthree#10x1/4ʺ pan-head Phillips thread
cutting screws, attach the top channel to the air
conditioner cabinet.

STEP 3:
ATTACH ACCORDION PANELS
1. Locate provided bag of screws.
2. Insert the right-hand accordion panel connector
tab into the accordion panel housing channels on
theairconditioner.(Fig7A)

3. Insert the top and then bottom of the right-hand
accordion panel housing in the top and bottom
accordion panel channels on the air conditioner
(Fig.7BandFig7C)

4. Slide the accordion panel housing into the
accordion panel guides as far as it can go.
5. Repeattheabovestepsfortheleft-hand
accordion panel.
STEP 4:
ATTACH FOAM ADHESIVE SEAL
Attach foam adhesive seal along the bottom of the
accordion panel’s bottom channel.

INSTALL CABINET INTO WINDOW
1. Center empty cabinet in window:
Checkthatlowerrailofairconditionercabinet
isbehindandagainstbacksideofwindowsill.
Maintainarmholdontheairconditionercabinet
(Fig.9).
Lower window sash to hold the cabinet in place.
Measure the distance between the right side of
the cabinet and the inside of the window channel
(Fig.10).

Usea3/16″drillbittodrillthreestarterholes3/8ʺ
deep through the three holes in the cabinet and
intothewindowsill,anddrillonestarterhole3/8ʺ
deep through the hole in the middle of top rail and
intothewindowframe(Fig.11).Attachcabinetto
windowwiththree#10x1/2ʺ pan-head Phillips
screwsandone#10x3/4ʺor(1/2ʺ)round-head

FOR VINYL-CLAD WINDOWS
Usea1/8ʺ drill bit to drill one hole through the
hole in the middle of top rail and into the window
frame. Attach cabinet to window with one #10 x
3/4ʺor(1/2ʺ)round-headPhillipsscrew(Fig.11).
Placetwosafetylocksintotheholeslocatedinthe
bottomofthecabinetasshown(Fig.12).

Usea3/32ʺ drill bit to drill 4 starter holes through
the holes in the side curtains into the window.
Drivefour#10x3/4ʺor(1/2ʺ)lockingscrews
through the holes in the side curtains into the
windowsillandwindowframe(Fig.14A,Fig.14B).
FOR VINYL-CLAD WINDOWS
Usean1/8ʺ drill bit to drill two holes through the
holes in the side curtains into the window frame
asshown(Fig.14A).Drivetwo#10x3/4ʺ(or
1/2ʺ)lockingscrewsthroughtheholesintheside
curtainsintothewindowsash(Fig.14A).
3.Trimtheweatherseal(6″x3/4″x1/12″)with
properlength,peelotheprotectivebackingand
plug any gaps if needed.

COMPLETE INSTALLATION
1. Insert window sash seal behind the top of the
lower window sash and against the glass of the
upperwindow(Fig.15).
2. Placethewindow-lockbracketontopoflower
window and against upper window sash on right
sideofthewindow(Fig.15).
3. Usea3/32″drillbittodrillstarterholesthrough
theholesinthebracketintothewindowsash
(Fig.15).
4. Attachthewindowlock-brackettothewindow
sashwithtwo#10x3/4″or(1/2″)round-head
screwstosecurewindowinplace(Fig.15).

TO ADJUST FAN SPEEDS:
Press to select the Fan Speed in four steps: Auto, Low,
Med or High. Each time the button is pressed, the fan speed
isshifted.InDRYmode,thefanspeediscontrolledatLow
automatically. For some models with heating capabilities, the
fanspeedcannotbeadjustedwhileinHEATmode.

SLEEP FEATURE:
Press the SLEEP button to initiate the SLEEP
mode. In this mode, the selected temperature will
increaseby2°F(1°C)30minutesafterthemodeis
selected.Thetemperaturewillthenincrease(cooling)
ordecrease(unitswithheatingonly)byanother
2°F(1°C)afteranadditional30minutes.Thisnew
temperature will be maintained for 6 hours before it
returns to the originally selected temperature. This
ends the SLEEP mode and the unit will continue
to operate as originally programmed. The SLEEP
mode program can be canceled at any time during
operation by pressing the SLEEP button again.
CHECK FILTER FEATURE:
Press the CHECK FILTER button to initiate this
feature. This feature is a reminder to clean the Air
Filterformoreecientoperation.TheLED(light)will
illuminateafter250hoursofoperation.Toresetafter
cleaningthelter,presstheCHECK FILTER button
andthelightwillgoo.
ENERGY SAVER FEATURE:
Press the ENERGYSAVER button to initiate this
function. This function is available on COOL, DRY
and AUTO(onlyAUTO-COOLINGand AUTO-FAN)
modes. In this mode, the fan will continue to run for 3
minutesafterthecompressorshutso.Thefanthen
cycles on for 2 minutes, at 10 minute intervals, until
the room temperature is above the set temperature,
atwhichtimethecompressorturnsbackonand
cooling starts.
FOLLOW ME FEATURE:
This feature can ONLY be activated
from the remote control. The
remote control serves as a remote
thermostat allowing for precise
temperature control at its location.
To activate the Follow Me feature, point the remote
control towards the unit and press the
FOLLOWME
button. The remote displays the actual temperature
at its location. The remote control will send this
signal to the air conditioner every 3 minutes until the
FOLLOWME button is pressed again. If the unit does
not receive the Follow Me signal during any 7 minute
interval, the unit will beep to indicate use of the
Follow Me feature has ended. The actual temperature
can be displayed at the unit by pressing the FAN only
mode.WhenintheCOOLmode,theunitdisplay
indicates the set temperature.
TO SELECT THE OPERATING MODE:
To choose operating mode, press the MODE
button. Each time you press the button, a mode is
selectedinasequencethatgoesfromAUTO,COOL,
DRY,HEAT(forunitswithheatingfunction)andFAN.
The indicator light will be illuminated and remain on
once the mode is selected. The unit will automatically
initiate the Energy Saver function under COOL, DRY, and
AUTO (only AUTO-COOLING and AUTO-FAN) modes.
TO OPERATE AUTO FEATURE:
When you set the air conditioner in AUTO mode, it
willautomaticallyselectcooling,heating(onmodels
withheatingcapabilities)orfanonlyoperation
depending on what temperature you have selected
and the room temperature. The air conditioner will
automatically control room temperature around the
temperature you set. In this mode, the fan speed
cannot be adjusted. It starts automatically at a speed
according to the room temperature.
TO OPERATE FAN ONLY:
Usethisfunction( )onlywhencoolingisnot
desired, such as for room air circulation or to exhaust
staleair.(Remembertoopentheventduringthis
function,butkeepitclosedduringcoolingfor
maximumcoolingeciency.)Youcanchooseany
fan speed you prefer. During this function, the display
will show the actual room temperature, not the set
temperature as in the cooling mode.
TO OPERATE DRY MODE:
In this mode, the air conditioner will reduce air
humidity. If the space is a closed or sealed area,
some degree of cooling will continue.
TIMER: AUTO START/STOP FEATURE:
● Whentheunitisonoro,pressthe TIMER
button.TheTIMERONindicatorlightilluminates.
It
indicates the Auto Start program has been initiated.
● WhenthetimeofTIMERONisdisplayed,pressing
the TIMER button again illuminates the TIMER
OFFindicatorlight,indicatingtheAutoStop
program has been initiated.
● PressorholdtheUPorDOWNbuttonstochange
theAutotimeby0.5hourincrements,upto10
hours, then by 1 hour increments, up to 24 hours.
The control will count down the time remaining
until start.
● Theselectedtimewillregisterin5secondsand
thesystemwillautomaticallyrevertbackto
displaying the previous temperature setting or the
roomtemperature(dependingonwhethertheunit
ispoweredonoroandthemodeitisin).
● TurningtheunitONorOFFatanytimeor
adjustingthetimersettingto0.0willcancelthe
AutoStart/Stopprogram.
A NOTE ABOUT THE TIMER:
When you set the timer, the
unitwillonlygoononceandoonce.Ifyouwantthe
airconditionertocycleonandobasedondesired
room temperature, you do not need to set the timer.
Instead, set your desired temperature and the unit will
cycleonandobasedonthattemperaturesetting.

cut, it will automatically restart with the previous
function setting when the power resumes.
AIR DIRECTIONAL LOUVERS:
Usethe4-waydirectionallouverstodirecttheairow
up or down and left or right throughout the room as
needed.Pivothorizontallouversuntilthedesiredup/
down direction is obtained.
Move the center handles from side to side until the
desiredLeft/Rightdirectionisobtained.
ADDITIONAL THINGS YOU
SHOULD KNOW:
● TheCoolcircuithasanautomatic3minute
time-delayedstartiftheunitisturnedoandon
quickly.Afterunitisturnedo,leavetheunito
for a minimum of 3 minutes before attempting to
turnbackon.Thispreventsoverheatingofthe
compressorandpossiblecircuitbreakertripping.
The fan will continue to run during this time.
● Thecontroliscapableofdisplayingtemperaturein
degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius. To convert
from one to the other, press and hold the left and
right TEMP/TIMERbuttons(

CARE AND CLEANING

AIR FILTER CLEANING
Theairltershouldbecleanedatleasteverytwoweeksoras
necessary.Trappedparticlesintheltercanbuildup,causing
accumulationoffrostonthecoolingcoils,andreducingeciency.
● PushtheventhandletotheVentClosedposition(whereapplicable).
● Placeonehandoneachsideoftheunitandtiltopenthefrontpanel.
● Graspthelterbythecenterandpullupandout.
● Washthelterusingliquiddish-washingdetergentandwarmwater.
Rinselterthoroughly.
● Gentlyshakeexcesswaterfromthelter.Besurethelteris
thoroughly dry before replacing.
● Asanalternativetowashingthelter,vacuumthelterclean.
NOTE: Neverusehotwaterover104°F(40°C)tocleantheairfilter.
Never attempt to operate the unit without the air filter.
CABINET CLEANING
● Besuretounplugtheairconditionertopreventshockorrehazard.
The cabinet and front may be dusted with an oil-free cloth or with a
clothdampenedinasolutionofwarmwaterandmildliquiddish-
washing detergent. Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.
● Neveruseharshcleaners,waxorpolishonthecabinetfront.
● Besuretowringexcesswaterfromtheclothbeforewipingthe
controls. Excess water in or around the controls may cause damage
to the air conditioner.
● Pluginairconditionerafterunithasdriedcompletely.
WINTER STORAGE
If air conditioner will be stored during the winter, remove it carefully
from the window according to the installation instructions. Cover it with
plastic or return it to the original carton.

DRY LOCATION.

Verify nothing is obstructing the front grille of unit, such as curtains, etc.
•Allowenoughtimeforroomtocool,especiallyifoutsidetempisveryhigh.
•Checkthatthelterisnotdirtyandlouversareopenallthewayandblowinginthe
desired direction.
•CheckthatunitissettoCOOLmodeandthattemperatureisdownenough(but
nottoolow).
•Ifunitisnearaheatsource,suchasastove,etc.,relocateunit.
•Ifaircomingfromunitiscooltothetouch,thenunitisworkingproperly;please
doublechecktherstthreebulletpointsabove.
•IfusingFollowMeremotefeature,moveremoteawayfromunit.
•Temperaturesensorbehindairltertouchingcoldcoil.Thesetwoelementsshould
not be touching. Carefully straighten tube away from coil.

These two elements should not be touching. Carefully straighten tube away
