It is imperative to unplug the power cord after the
appliance has been used, before it is cleaned and whilst
being repaired.

Description of Accessories
Before the first time you use Your Vacuum Cleaner
Remove all packing materials including all labels and discard responsibly.
Ensure that all parts are present See Description of Parts above and that there
is no damage to any component or the mains cable.
Assembling Your Vacuum Cleaner
A. Insert the Handle Pole (14) into the body of the
Vacuum Cleaner as shown in ‘A’ left.

B. Insert the screw supplied into the hole in the
body and tighten using a suitable crosshead
screwdriver (not supplied), take care not to
overtighten.
Using Your Vacuum Cleaner
1. Once you have assembled your
vacuum cleaner, Set the height of the
Floor Head (7) using the Floor Brush
Height Adjuster (8).
Rotate the adjuster clockwise to raise
the floor head for cleaning high pile
carpets, rugs, etc. and anti-clockwise
to lower the floor head for cleaning
hard floors, low pile carpets, etc.
2. Unravel the cable from the Upper &
Lower Storage Hooks (17) & (22).
To do this, simply rotate the Upper Cable
Storage Hook (17) through 180 degrees
and pull the cable away, then unhook
from the Lower Cable Storage Hook (22).
For Easier cable management during use,
hook the Mains Cable (19) over the
Cable Clip (13) arrowed right.

3. Insert the mains plug (with dry hands)
into a suitable socket.

3. Place your foot gently on the Floor
Head (7) and pull the cleaner back by
the Handle (1). Press the On/Off
Button (18 - below) with your foot
and begin cleaning.

Using the Pet Brush (24)
1. Remove the end of the Hose (2) from the
Hose Connector (20) from the main body of
the vacuum by twisting it anticlockwise and
pulling upwards as shown right:
2. Attach the Pet Brush (24) to the
Hose Connector (2) to clean Pet
hairs off the Stairs, Sofas, Chairs,
Mattresses, Cushions, etc. as
shown left:
Using the Crevice & Upholstery Tool (6)
3. Remove the end of the Hose (2) from the
Hose Connector (20) on the main body of
the vacuum by twisting it anti clockwise and
pulling upwards as shown right:
4. Attach the Crevice & Upholstery Tool
(6) to the Hose Connector (2) to clean
the Carpet Edges, Chairs, Mattresses,
Cushions, etc. as shown left:

5. Slide the brush forwards on Crevice &
Upholstery Tool (6) until it locks into
place to clean the Carpet Edges, Chairs,
Mattresses, Cushions, etc. as shown left:
6. To retract the brush, press the button at
the brush end of the tool and slide the
brush back as shown left:
7. Whilst cleaning the stairs, always
place the vacuum cleaner at the
bottom of the stairs so it is
always positioned below you and
up against the bottom stair (see
right).
Clean the stairs using the multi
tool attachment or just the hose
as conditions demand.
Note: The brushbar rotates
constantly when the vacuum
cleaner is on.
When upright the wheels will
raise the brushbar from the floor.
To avoid damage to your floor,
ensure the vacuum is upright
when using the hose.
Note: To improve stability of the vacuum
cleaner when using the Hose (2), hook the
hose Anti Topple Ring (16) on the hose onto
the Hose Anti Topple Hook (21), which is on
the lower cable storage hook shown right.

1. Once the dust level reaches the ‘MAX’
mark on the Dust Compartment (5) it
will need emptying and the Filter
Assembly (11) cleaned.
Emptying and Cleaning Your Vacuum Cleaner
WARNING! Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before
cleaning.
WARNING! DO NOT continue to use your vacuum cleaner once the ‘MAX’
mark has been reached as permanent damage may occur to the appliance.
2. To remove the Dust Compartment (5) from the
main body of the vacuum cleaner, press the Dust
Compartment Release Button (3) at the top of
the Dust Compartment (5) and pull it away from
the cleaner.
3. To empty the Dust Compartment (5), hold it
over a dustbin and release the catch on the
bottom and allow the Dust Compartment Base
(10) to swing open.
Shake the cylinder until all of the dust is
removed from the cylinder.

Dismantling and Cleaning the Filter Assembly (11)
1. Remove the Dust Compartment (5) from
the vacuum cleaner as described on the
previous page.
2. Whilst holding the Dust Compartment (5)
rotate the Filter Assembly Lid (4) anti-
clockwise so that the arrow on the lid aligns
with the unlock Pad lock symbol see inset
lower right.
3. Lift the Filter Assembly Lid (4) and the Filter
Assembly (11) out of the Dust Compartment
(5).
4. Remove the Filter Assembly (11)
from the Filter Assembly Lid (4) by
rotating the lid anticlockwise towards
the unlock Pad lock symbol under the
lid see inset below.
The HEPA Filter (25) is located inside
the Filter Assembly (11) and can be
simply pulled out.

5. Tap the Filter Assembly (11) and HEPA Filter (25) over a dustbin to remove
excess dust and debris.
Rinse the HEPA Filter (25), the Filter Assembly (11) and the Dust Compartment
(5) under warm water until thoroughly clean:
Leave the parts to dry for at least 24 hours before reassembling.
Once all parts are thoroughly dry, reassemble the Dust Compartment (5) in the
reverse order to taking it apart as follows:
6. Replace the HEPA Filter (25) back into the
Filter Assembly (11) and re-attach the
Filter Assembly (11) to the Filter Assembly
Lid (4) by rotating clockwise towards the
Locked Pad lock symbol see right:
7. Whilst holding the Dust Compartment
(5) replace the Filter Assembly Lid (4) on
top of the Dust Compartment (5) and
rotate the lid clockwise so that the arrow
on the lid aligns with the locked Pad lock
symbol see left.

Cleaning the Rectangular HEPA Filter (26)
To access the Rectangular HEPA Filter (26), remove the Dust Compartment (5) as
described above.
The Rectangular HEPA Filter (26) is located in the body of the vacuum cleaner
behind the Dust Compartment (5).
1. To remove the filter from the vacuum
cleaner body, press the catch down at the
top of the filter and pull the filter towards
you.
2. Tap the filter over a dustbin to remove
any excess dust and debris then rinse
under warm water until the water runs
clear.
Leave to dry for 24 hours before
refitting the filter to the vacuum
cleaner.
Cleaning the Round Sponge Filter (27)
To access the Round Sponge Filter (27), remove the Dust Compartment (5) as
described above.
The Round Sponge Filter (27) is located in the base under the Dust Compartment
(5).
Left: With your thumb and
forefinger, pinch the filter and pull it
out towards you.
Tap the filter over a dustbin to remove
any excess dust and debris then rinse
under warm water until the water runs
clear.
Leave to dry for 24 hours before refitting
the filter to the vacuum cleaner.

DO NOT use your vacuum cleaner without any of the filters fitted as this will
cause permanent damage to the cleaner and may invalidate your warranty.
Care and Use of your Vacuum Cleaner
Always disconnect the cleaner from the mains power supply before cleaning.
Clean outside of the cleaner with a clean damp cloth. Never clean with harsh or
abrasive cleaners.
Do not submerge the cleaner or its mains cable in water or any other liquids.
Empty the Dust Compartment (5) as soon as the ‘MAX’ mark has been reached.*
Wash the Filter Assembly (11) and Rectangular Filter (26) regularly see above
and the table below.
Allow the filters to thoroughly dry out for 24 hours before reassembly and use.
After use and wrap the Mains Cable (19) around the cable hooks and store in a
cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Changing the belt
NOTE: Before starting any maintenance on the belt, ensure the vacuum is
switched off and disconnected from the mains supply.

the base can be accessed.

right (1) and remove the brush guard (2)

d. Hook the replacement belt over the
motor spindle and over the brushbar.
Ensure the belt sits in the middle section
in between the two grooves on the
brushbar.
e. Pull the brushbar down and back into
the casing. Ensure the flat edge of the
brushbar is facing outwards.
Rotate the brushbar by hand to check
there is free movement.

Non-Wireable Mains Plug
If your appliance is supplied with a non-wireable plug fitted to the mains lead
and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one
(conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating). Never use a plug with the fuse cover
missing. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
If you need to remove the plug DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS and then cut
it off the mains lead and immediately dispose of it safely. Never attempt to reuse
the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of electric shock.
