1. SAFETY
WARNING! Ensure Health & Safety, local authority and general workshop practice requirements are adhered to when using this
equipment.
WARNING! Always refer to the motorcycle manufacturer’s service instructions, or a proprietary manual to establish the current procedure
for removing motorcycle wheels.
9 Ensure that the motorcycle wheel and hub are in good condition.
9 Use the wheel bearing removal kit in a suitable work area. Keep the area clean and tidy and ensure there is adequate lighting.
9 Keep children and unauthorised persons away from the work area.
9 Keep hands clear of the drift and hammer when using the wheel bearing removal kit.
9 Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when using the wheel bearing removal kit. A full range of PPE is available from your

8 DO NOT use the wheel bearing removal kit for any purpose other than for which it is designed.
8 DO NOT use the wheel bearing removal kit if any part of it is damaged or missing.
8 DO NOT allow untrained persons to use the wheel bearing removal kit.
8 DO NOT attempt to remove a motorcycle wheel bearing when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating
medication.
9 When not in use, clean the wheel bearing removal kit and store in a safe, dry, childproof area.

2. INTRODUCTIONUCT
For easy removal of wheel bearings. Simply choose the correct size collet for the bearing and hammer one of the drifts into the allocated slot.
Covers sizes from 10-25mm so will suit most popular motorcycles and ATV/Quad Bikes.

4. OPERATION
4.1. PREPARE WHEEL BEARING FOR REMOVAL
4.1.1. Remove the motorcycle wheel, using the method described in the motorcycle manufacturer’s service instructions, or a proprietary
manual.
4.1.2. . If fitted, remove the retaining circlip. A range of circlip pliers suitable for this task are available from your Sealey stockist.
4.1.3. Remove the hub bearing seal. It is always advisable to replace the seal with a new item after it has been removed.
4.2. INSERT COLLET (g.1)
4.2.1. Selectthecorrectsized(closesttting)colletandinsertitintocentreofthewheelbearing.
4.2.2. With the collet inserted, place the wheel, with the collet lowermost on a firm, solid surface.
4.2.3. The allocated slot in the collet should be visible through the hub.
4.3. INSERT DRIFT INTO COLLET (g.2)
4.3.1. Locate the tapered end of the corresponding sized drift into the allocated slot in the collet.
4.3.2. Usingasuitablehammer,strikethedriftrmlyintotheallocatedslotinthecollet.Thiswillexpandthecollet,bindingittotheinnerraceof
the wheel bearing.
4.4. REMOVE WHEEL BEARING (g.3)
4.4.1. Supportthewheelandhub,leavingsucientclearancesothatthecolletandwheelbearingcanbedrivenoutofthehub.Ensurethat
thehubandwheelaresupportedsuciently,sothatnodamagewillbeinictedtothebrakediscs,huborwheelrimasaresultof
removing the wheel bearing.
4.4.2. Using a suitable hammer, strike the drift to remove the wheel bearing and collet from the hub.
4.4.3. Once the wheel bearing and collet have been extracted, remove by passing the drift through the hub.
4.4.4. Grip the drift in a vice and detach the wheel bearing and collet carefully using a hammer.
4.4.5. Remove the collet from the wheel bearing and return all items from the wheel bearing removal kit to the case.
