detailed here must be fully understood and
followed to reduce the risk of injury, fire,
explosion, electrical hazard, and/or property
damage.
Safety information presented here is generic
in nature – some advice may not be
applicable to every product. The term
"equipment" refers to the product, be it
electrical mains powered, battery powered or
combustion engine powered.
• Before Use - If you are not familiar with the
safe operation/handling of the equipment or
are in any way unsure of any aspect of
suitability or correct use for your
application, you should complete training
conducted by a person or organization
qualified in safe use and operation of this
equipment, including fuel/electrical handling
and safety.
• Do NOT operate the equipment in
flammable or explosive environments, such
as in the presence of flammable liquids,
gases or dust. The equipment may create
sparks or heat that may ignite flammable
substances.
• Keep clear of moving parts.
• Equipment may be a potential source of
electric shock or injury if misused.
• Do NOT operate the equipment if it is
damaged, malfunctioning or is in an
excessively worn state.
• Do NOT allow others to use the equipment
unless they have read this manual and are
adequately trained.
• Keep packaging away from children - risk
of suffocation! Operators must use the
equipment correctly. When using the
equipment, consider conditions and pay
due care to persons and property.
General Work Area Safety
•
Work areas should be clean and well it.
• Do not operate the equipment if
bystanders, animals etc are within
operating range of the equipment or the
general work area.
• If devices are provided for connecting dust
extraction / collection facilities, ensure
these are connected and used properly.
Dust collection can reduce dust-related
hazards.
General Personal Safety
•
Wear appropriate protective equipment
when operating, servicing, or when in the
operating area of the equipment to help
protect from eye and ear injury, poisoning,
burns, cutting and crush injuries. Protective
equipment such as safety goggles,
respirators, non-slip safety footwear, hard
hat, hearing protection etc should be used
for appropriate equipment / conditions.
Other people nearby should also wear
appropriate personal protective equipment.
Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery,
which can be caught in moving parts. Keep
hair and clothing away from the equipment.
• Stay alert and use common sense when
operating the equipment. Do not over-
reach. Always maintain secure footing and
balance.
• Do not use the equipment if tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
• This equipment is not intended for use by
persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities.
General Fuel Safety
•
Petrol/fuel/gasoline is extremely flammable
– keep clear of naked flames or other
ignition sources.
• Do not spill fuel. If you spill fuel, wipe it off
the equipment immediately – if fuel gets on
your clothing, change clothing.
• Do NOT smoke near fuel or when
refuelling.
• Always shut off the engine before
refuelling.
• Do NOT refuel a hot engine.
• Open the fuel cap carefully to allow any
pressure build-up in the tank to release
slowly.
• Always refuel in well ventilated areas.
• Always check for fuel leakage. If fuel
leakage is found, do not start or run the
engine until all leaks are fixed.
General Carbon-Monoxide Safety
•
Using a combustion engine indoors CAN
KILL IN MINUTES. Engine exhaust
contains carbon-monoxide – a poison you
cannot smell or see.
• Use combustion engines OUTSIDE only,
and far away from windows, doors and
vents.
General Equipment Use and Care
•
The equipment is designed for domestic
use only.
• Handle the equipment safely and carefully.
• Before use, inspect the equipment for
misalignment or binding of moving parts,
loose components, damage or any other
condition that may affect its operation. If
damaged, have the equipment repaired by
an authorised service centre or technician
before use.
• Prevent unintentional starting of the
equipment - ensure equipment and power
switches are in the OFF position before
connecting or moving equipment. Do not
carry equipment with hands or fingers
touching any controls. Remove any tools or
other items that are not a part of the
equipment from it before starting or
switching on.
• Do not force the equipment. Use the
correct equipment for your application.
Equipment will perform better and be safer
when used within its design and usage
parameters.
• Use the equipment and accessories etc. in
accordance with these instructions,
considering working conditions and the
work to be performed. Using the equipment
for operations different from those intended
could result in hazardous situations.
• Always keep equipment components
(engines, hoses, handles, controls, frames,
housings, guards etc) and accessories
(cutting tools, nozzles, bits etc) properly
maintained. Keep the equipment clean and,
where applicable, properly lubricated.
• Store the equipment out of reach of
children or untrained persons. To avoid
burns or fire hazards, let the equipment
cool completely before transporting or
storing. Never place or store the equipment
near flammable materials, combustible
gases or liquids etc.
• The equipment is not weather-proof, and
should not be stored in direct sunlight, at
high ambient temperatures or locations that
are damp or humid.
• Do not clean equipment with solvents,
flammable liquids or harsh abrasives.

General Electrical Safety
•
Inspect electrical equipment, extension
cords, power bars, and electrical fittings for
damage or wear before each use. Repair or
replace damaged equipment immediately.
• Ensure all power sources conform to
equipment voltage requirements and are
disconnected before connecting or
disconnecting equipment.
• When wiring electrically powered
equipment, follow all electrical and safety
codes.
• Always use a Residual Current Device
(RCD) (GFCI) / Earth Leakage Circuit
Breaker / Safety Switch when operating this
item (electrical items only).
• High voltage / high current power lines may
be present. Use extreme caution to avoid
contact or interference with power lines.
Electrical shock can be fatal.
General Electrical Safety
•
Electrically grounded equipment must have
an approved cord and plug and be
connected to a grounded electrical outlet.
• Do NOT bypass the ON/OFF switch and
operate equipment by connecting and
disconnecting the electrical cord.
• Do NOT use equipment that has exposed
wiring, damaged switches, covers or
guards.
• Do NOT use electrical equipment in wet
conditions or in damp locations.
• Do NOT use electrical cords to lift, move or
carry equipment.
• Do NOT coil or knot electrical cords, and
ensure electrical cords are not trip hazards.
General Service Information
•
The equipment must be serviced or
repaired at authorised service centres by
qualified personnel only.
• Replacement parts must be original
equipment manufacturer (OEM) to ensure
equipment safety is maintained.
• Do NOT attempt any maintenance or repair
work not described in this manual.
• After use, the equipment and components
may still be hot – allow the equipment to
cool and disconnect spark plugs and/or
electrical power sources and/or batteries
from it before adjusting, changing
accessories or performing repair or
maintenance.
• Do NOT adjust while the equipment is
running.
• Perform service related activities in suitable
conditions, such as a workshop.
• Replace worn, damaged or missing
warning/safety labels immediately.
General Power Tool Safety Warnings

ARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or
serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains operated
(corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
Work Area Safety
•
Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark area invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
• Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
Electrical Safety
•
Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with Car- earthed (grounded) power
tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric
shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away Damaged or entangled cords
increase the risk of electric shock from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts.
• When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of
electric shock.
• If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the
risk of electric shock.
Personal Safety
•
Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under
the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
• Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust mask, on-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or
hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
• Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or
carrying the tool. carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may
result in personal injury. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or
long hair can be caught in moving parts.
• If devices are provided for the connection of dust ex- traction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of dust
collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
Power Tool Use and Care
•
Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for
which it was designed.
• Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must
be repaired.

• Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or
storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
• Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the
power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power
tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
• Use the power tool, accessories, and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instruct ions, taking into account the working conditions and the work
to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Battery Tool Use and Care
•
Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire
when used with another battery pack.
• Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and ire.
• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects,
that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts
eyes, addition- ally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery ay cause irritation or burns.
Service

Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power
tool is maintained.
Safety Warnings for Sabre Saws
•
Hold power tool by insulated gripping surfaces, when performing an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring. Cutting
accessory contacting a live wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool live and could give the operator an electric shock.
• Keep hands away from the sawing range. Do not reach under the workpiece. Contact with the saw blade can lead to injuries.
• Apply the machine to the workpiece only when switched on. Otherwise there is danger of kickback when the cutting tool jams in the workpiece.
When sawing, the base plate 2 must always faces against the workpiece. The saw blade can become wedged and lead to loss of control over the
machine.
• When the cut is completed, switch off the machine and then pull the saw blade out of the cut only after it has come to a standstill. In this manner
you can avoid kick- back and can place own the machine securely.
• Use only undamaged saw blades that are in perfect condition. Bent or dull saw blades can break, negatively influence the cut, or lead to
kickback.
• Do not brake the saw blade to a stop by applying side pressure after switching off. The saw blade can be dam- aged, break or cause kickback.
• Clamp material well. Do not support the workpiece with your hand or foot. Do not touch objects or the floor with the saw running. Danger of
kickback.
• Use appropriate detectors to determine if utility lines are hidden in the work area or call the local utility company for assistance. Contact with
electric lines can lead to fire and electric shock. Damaging a gas line can lead to explosion. Penetrating a water line causes property damage.
• When working with the machine, always hold it firmly with both hands and provide for a secure stance. The power tool is guided more secure with
both hands.
• Secure the workpiece. A workpiece clamped with clamping devices or in a vice is held more secure than by hand.
• Always wait until the machine has come to a complete stop before placing it down. The tool insert can jam and lead to loss of control over the
power tool.
• Do not open the battery. Danger of short-circuiting.
• Protect the battery against heat, e. g., against continuous intense sunlight, fire, water, and moisture. Danger of explosion.
• In case of damage and improper use of the battery, vapours may be emitted. Ventilate the area and seek medical help in case of complaints. The
vapours can irritate the respiratory system.
• Use the battery only in conjunction with your power tool. This measure alone protects the battery against dangerous overload.
• The battery can be damaged by pointed objects such as nails or screwdrivers or by force applied externally. internal short circuit can occur, and
the battery can burn, smoke, explode or overheat.

Features
An estimation of the level of exposure to vibration should also take into account the times when the tool is
switched off or when it is running but not actually doing the job. This may significantly reduce the exposure level
over the total working period. Identify additional safety measures to protect the operator from the effects of
vibration such as: maintain the tool and the accessories, keep the hands warm, organization of work patterns.
In addition to the safe use of tools, these should also be noted:
1. Please check the saw blade carefully before use. There should be no cracks and broken teeth. The date of
the saw blade delivery should be within one year.
2. Before resaw operation, check that the blade direction is consistent with the direction indicated in the
instructions.
3. In the process, do not force too hard, do not make the blade hit, so as to avoid the blade rupture caused
casualties. When using reciprocating saw for cutting, do not swing the saw blade horizontally.
4. In the process of use, in case of any of the following circumstances, the user must immediately cut off the
power supply, to find out the cause, after the maintenance of normal use.
a. The transmission parts are stuck, speed fell sharply and suddenly stopped rotating.
b. There is an abnormal force or sound, temperature rose too high or there is an unusual smell. the saw
blade is split.
c. The commutator spark is too large and there are sparks.

Start-Up
Before any work on the tool itself (i.e. maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport
and storage, remove the battery from the power tool. There is danger of injury when
unintentionally starting the tool.
Battery Charging
Use only the charger specified for your tool. This charger has been matched to the lithium-ion battery of your
power tool.
NOTE: The battery supplied is partially charged. To ensure full capacity of the battery, completely charge the
battery in the battery charger before using your power tool for the first time. The lithium-ion battery can be
charged at any time without reducing its service life. Interrupting the charging procedure does not damage the
battery.
Removing the Battery
To remove the battery (8), press the battery unlocking button (11) and pull the battery out of the power tool
toward the rear. Do not remove forcefully.
Replacing/Inserting the Saw Blade
•
When mounting the saw blade, always wear protective gloves. There is a danger of injury when touching the
saw blade with bare hands.
•
When changing the saw blade, take care that the saw blade holder is free of any material residue, e. g. wood
or metal shavings.

Selecting a Saw Blade
Use only ½” universal shank saw blades. The saw blade should not be longer than required for the intended cut.
The shank thickness of the saw blade must be 0.8 – 1.6mm. Use a thin saw blade for narrow curve cuts.
Inserting a Saw Blade
Press the SDS clamping lever (4) forward and guide the saw blade behind the clamping plate (10) into the saw
blade holder. Release the SDS clamping lever (4).
Check the tight seating by pulling on the saw blade. A loose saw blade can fall out and cause injury. For certain
work, the saw blade (1) can also be turned through 180° (with the teeth pointed upwards) and re-inserted again.
Removing the Saw Blade
Before removing, allow the saw blade to cool down. There is danger of injury when touching a hot saw blade.
Press the SDS clamping lever (4) forward and pull out the saw blade. Then release the SDS clamping lever.
Dust/Chip Extraction
•
Dusts from materials such as lead-containing coatings, some wood types, minerals and metal can be
harmful to one’s health. Touching or breathing-in the dusts can cause allergic reactions and/or lead to
respiratory infections.
•
Certain dusts, such as oak or beech dust, are considered carcinogenic, especially in connection with wood-
treatment additives (chromakey, wood preservative). Materials containing asbestos may should only be
worked by specialists.
•
Provide good ventilation for the workplace.
•
It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator. Observe the relevant regulations in your locality for
the materials to be worked.
•
Prevent dust accumulation at the workplace. Dusts can easily ignite.

Operation
Inserting the Battery
Use only original lithium-ion batteries supplied by the manufacturer with the voltage listed on the
nameplate of your power tool. Using other batteries can lead to injuries and pose a fire hazard.
Using incompatible batteries can lead to malfunctions or can cause damage to the power tool.
Insert the charged battery (8) into the base of the power tool until it is securely locked into place.
Switching ON/OFF
1. To switch on the power tool, first press the lock-off button (7) right or left. Then, press the ON/OFF switch (6)
and keep it pressed.
2. To switch off the power tool, release the ON/OFF switch.
NOTE: For safety reasons, the ON/OFF switch cannot be locked; it must remain pressed during the entire
operation. To save energy, only switch the power tool on when using it. The lithium-ion battery is protected
against deep discharging with the Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) function. When the battery is empty, the
power tool is switched OFF by means of a protective circuit: The tool will no longer rotate.
3. Do not continue to press the ON/OFF switch after the power tool has been automatically switched OFF. The
battery could get damaged.
Controlling the Stroke Rate
•
Increasing or reducing the pressure on the ON/OFF switch enables stepless stroke-rate control of the power
tool.
•
Light pressure on the ON/OFF switch will result in a low stroke rate. Increasing the pressure will increase the
stroke rate. The required stroke rate is dependent on the material and the working conditions and can be
determined by a practical trial. Reducing the stroke rate is recommended when the saw blade engages in
the material as well as when sawing plastic and aluminium material.
•
After longer periods of work at low stroke rate, the power tool can heat up considerably. Allow it to cool down
by running it for approx. 3 minutes at maximum stroke rate.
•
Temperature Dependent Overload Protection: When using as intended for, the power tool will not be
subjected to overloads. When the load is too high or the allowable battery temperature of 50°C has been
exceeded, the electronic control switches OFF the power tool until the temperature is in the optimum
temperature range again.
Work Tips
•
Before any work on the power tool itself (e. g. maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport
and storage, remove the battery from the power tool. There is danger of injury when unintentionally
starting the power tool.
•
When sawing light building materials, observe the statutory provisions and the recommendations of the
material suppliers.
•
Check wood, press boards, building materials, etc. for foreign objects such as nails, screws or similar
material, and always use the correct saw blade.

Switch the power tool ON and guide it toward the workpiece. Position the base plate onto the surface of the
work and saw through the material, applying uniform contact pressure and feed. After completing the
working procedure, switch the machine OFF.
•
If the saw blade should jam, switch the power tool OFF immediately. Slightly widen the gap with a suitable
tool and pull out the power tool.
Pivoting Footplate
Due to its movability, the adjustable foot (2) adapts to the required angular position of the surface.

Plunge Cutting
•
The plunge cutting procedure is only suitable for cutting soft materials such as wood, plaster boards, and
other similar materials. Do not work with metallic materials with the plunge cutting procedure!
•
Use only short saw blades for plunge cutting.
Flush Cuts
•
Using elastic bimetal saw blades, items still attached to a wall (e. g. projecting building elements such as
water pipes, etc.) can be sawn off flush at the wall.
•
Ensure that the saw blade always extends beyond the diameter of the material being worked. There is a
danger of kickback. Position the saw blade directly against the wall and apply some lateral pressure via the
tool until the footplate faces against the wall. Switch the power tool ON and saw through the workpiece,
applying constant lateral pressure.

When sawing metal, the coolant/lubricant should be applied alongside the cutting line because of the
material heating up.
•
Protect the battery against moisture and water. Store the battery only within a temperature range between -
20 and 50°C. As an example, do not leave the battery inside a car during the summer.

Lithium Battery Care and Maintenance
Top 3 Battery Care Requirements
1. Charge battery before first use. The battery may arrive with some charge, regardless of this the
battery must be charged for one hour on the initial charge and one hour for each subsequent charge.
2. Charge battery immediately when it is depleted. Do not store a depleted battery. This will
permanently impact the life of the battery. If the battery is going to be stored for a period of time, fully
charge the battery before storing.
3. Disconnect battery when not in use. To prolong the life of a battery, disconnect it from the unit
when not in use. Disconnect chargers from the battery once charged.
To ensure the battery maintains optimum performance, follow the guidelines outlined below.
•
For best results, charge batteries in temperatures between 10°C and 30°C
•
When battery is charged, disconnect the charger from the power supply and remove the battery from the
charger.
•
If a battery is stored or otherwise unused for an extended period, and the battery has no charge remaining
when you check it, consider it to be damaged. Do not attempt to recharge it or to use it. Replace it with a
new battery.
•
Use only with the battery charger specified by the manufacturer.
•
Ensure that the battery charger electrical cord is not subjected to damage or stress. Do not operate the
battery charger if it has a damaged electrical cord or plug.
•
Do not use the charger in wet areas or expose it to rain or water.
•
The typical estimated life of a Lithium-Ion battery is about two to three years or 300 to 500 charge cycles,
whichever occurs first. One charge cycle is a period of use from fully charged, to fully discharged, and fully
recharged again
•
Explosion hazard – protect the battery against heat; for example, direct sunlight and fire. Do not store
batteries in vehicles or locations subject to heat.
•
Batteries can explode in the presence of an ignition source, such as a pilot light. To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, never use any cordless product in the presence of open flame. Exploding batteries
can propel debris and chemicals.
•
Do not open the battery – danger of short-circuiting and/or explosion.
•
Do not attempt to destroy or disassemble the battery pack or remove any of its components.
•
Do not touch the battery terminals with metal objects and/or body parts as short-circuit and/or personal injury
may result.
•
Explosion hazard – do not open and/or short-circuit the battery.
•
Poison hazard – battery leakage (liquid ejection). Under extreme conditions, liquid may be ejected from the
battery – avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, immediately seek medical attention, and flush with
water. If liquid contacts eyes, immediately seek medical attention, flush with clean water for at least 10
minutes. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
•
Dispose of non-serviceable batteries in an environmentally responsible manner and according to local
regulations.
Failure to adhere to the requirements above may result in the battery becoming inoperative or battery life being
reduced. In extreme cases or abuse, battery overheating or fire may result.

Maintenance and Transport
Maintenance
•
Before any work on the power tool itself (e. g. maintenance, tool change, etc.) as well as during transport
and storage, remove the battery from the power tool. There is danger of injury when unintentionally starting
the power tool.
•
For safe and proper working, always keep the power tool and ventilation slots clean. Clean the saw blade
holder preferably with compressed air or a soft brush. Remove the saw blade from the power tool for this.
Ensure proper operation of the saw blade holder by applying a suitable lubricant.
•
Heavy contamination of the power tool can lead to malfunctions. Do not saw materials that produce a lot of
dust from below or overhead.
•
The power tool, rechargeable batteries, accessories, and packaging should be sorted for environmental-
friendly recycling.
•
Do not dispose of power tools and batteries/rechargeable batteries into household waste!
Transport
•
Lithium-ion batteries are subject to your local regulation requirements. The user can transport the batteries
by road without further requirements. When being transported by third parties (e.g.: air transport or
forwarding agency), special requirements on packaging and labelling must be observed. For preparation of
the item being shipped, consulting an expert for hazardous material is required.
•
Dispatch batteries only when the housing is undamaged. Tape or mask off open contacts. Pack the battery
in such a manner that it cannot move around in the packaging.
•
Please also observe any local regulations in your area.
