TRANSMISSION REMOVAUREPLACE-
MENT
Should your transmission require
removalfor serviceor replacement, it
should be purged after reinstallation and
beforeoperating the tractor. See "PURGE
TRANSMISSION" in the Operation
section of this manual.
TO ADJUST STEERING WHEEL
ALIGNMENT
Ifsteering wheel crossbars are not
horizontal (leftto dght) when wheels are
positioned straight forward, remove
steedng wheel and reassemble per
instructionsinthe Assembly section of
this manual.
FRONT WHEEL TOE-IN/CAMBER
The front wheel toe-in and camber are
notadjustableon your tractor. If damage
has occurred toaffect the front wheel toe-
in or camber, contacta Sears or other
qualified service center.
TO REMOVE WHEEL FOR REPAIRS
1. Block up axle securely.
2. Remove axle cover, retaining ring and
washers to allow wheel removal (rear
wheel contains a square key - Do not
lose).
3. Repair tire and reassemble.
NOTE: On rear wheels only: align
grooves in rear wheel hub and axle.
Insed square key.
4. Replace washers and snap retaining
dng securely in axle groove.
5. Replace axle cover.
NOTE: To seal tire punctures and prevent
flat tires due to slow leaks, tire sealant
may be purchased from your local parts
dealer. Tire sealant also prevents tire dry
rot and corrosion.

TO START ENGINE WITH A WEAK
BA'rrERY
A CAUTION: Lead-acid batteries
generate explosive gases. Keep sparks,
flame and smoking materials away from
batteries. Always wear eye protection
when around batteries.
If your batteryistoo weak to start the
engine, it should be recharged. (See
"BATTERY" inthe MAINTENANCE
section ofthis manual).
If "jumpercables" are used for emergency
starling, follow this procedure:
IMPORTANT: Yourtractor is equipped
with a 12 volt negative grounded system.
The other vehical must also be a 12 volt
negative grounded system. Do not use
your tractor batteryto start other vehicles.
TO ATTACHJUMPER CABLES -
1. Connect each end ofthe RED cable to
the POSITIVE (+) terminal of each
battery, taking care not to short
against chassis.
2. Connect one end of the BLACK cable
tothe NEGATIVE (-) terminal offully
charged battery.
3. Connect the other end of the BLACK
cable to good CHASSIS GROUND,
away from fuel tank and battery.
TO REMOVE CABLES, REVERSE ORDER -
1. BLACK cable firstfrom chassis and
then from the fully charged battery.
2. RED cable last from both batteries.

terminals by allowing a wrench of any
other objectto contact both terminals at
the same time. Before connectingbattery,
remove metal bracelets, wristwatch
bands, dngs, etc.
