SpindleLockButton
Turn off and unplug tool, In orderto preventthe spindle of the unit from rotat-
ing while installing or removing accessories, a spindle lock button hasbeen
provided in the gear headof the machine. Depress spindle lock button and
rotatethe spindle until the lock pin engagesto lockthe spindle.
NEVERDEPRESSTHE SPINDLELOCKBUTTONWITH THETOOLRUNNING
ORCOASTING.
SandingWithAbrasiveDiscs(Figure3)
To installsandingdiscs:
1. TURNOFFTOOLAND DISCONNECTFROMPOWERSUPPLY.

Pushthe hub of the disc nutthrough the center of the sandingdisc, asfar
as it will go,and alsothrough the backing disc.
Putthe assembled discs on the tool spindle and engagethe disc nut into
thedisc nut hub.
4. Threadthe assemblyclockwise, completely down onthe spindle.
5. Engagethe lock button to lock thespindle in place.
When using asanding disc, holdthe tool atan angleof 10°,15° to the work. If
onlythe outer edgeof the sandingdisc is used,a rough cut surfacewill result.
If the sandingdisc is pressedflat againstthework, the surface will beirregular
and bumpy, and thetool will bedifficult to control.
Toremovedisc:
1. Engagespindle lock button to lock the spindle in place.
2. Using a cloth or glove to protect your hand,turn disc assembly counter-
clockwise to removeit from the tool spindle. (Figure4)
