4. Do not place in or drop into water or any other liquid.
5. If an appliance falls into water, “unplug it” immediately.

WARNING – To reduce the risk of burns, electrocution,

1. An appliance should never be left unattended when
plugged in.
2. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is
used by, on, or near children or individuals with certain
disabilities.
3. Use this appliance only for its intended use, as described
in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended
by the manufacturer.
4. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord
or plug, if it is not working properly, or if it has been
damaged, or dropped into water. Return the appliance
to a service centre for examination and repair.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap

6. Never place the ghd styler on a soft surface, such as a bed
or couch. Always lay the ghd styler on a at heat-resistant
surface such as a ghd styler heat mat.
7. Never use while sleeping.
8. Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray)
products are being used or where oxygen is being
administered.
9. Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.
10. Do not operate with a voltage converter.
11. The ghd styler contains high tech sensitive components
therefore please ensure that the product is not dropped.
Do not insert foreign objects, paint, burn or disassemble
your ghd styler. Do not use your ghd styler if it has been
damaged – for example if the styler casing is cracked.
If your product is damaged through misuse or abuse, this
will not be covered under your guarantee. This does not
aect your statutory rights.
WARNING: hot surfaces
The ghd styler heater plates are hot for eective styling.
To reduce the risk of burns:
1. NEVER touch the styler heater plates.
2. Avoid holding or touching the styler beyond the raised
nger guard.
3. Do not allow the hot plates to touch textiles, plastic
material, or other heat sensitive surfaces.
4. When not styling always lay the ghd styler on a at heat
resistant surface such as a ghd styler heat mat.
5. When styling is complete, always switch o the ghd styler
and unplug it from the power supply.
6. Wait for the ghd styler to cool before storing.
7. After styling the plates remain hot – for safe cooling cover
the plates with the heat proof plate guard.
8. When the ghd styler has cooled, fold the power cord in the
same way as it was rst delivered in its packaging. Do not
wind it around your hand or the body of the ghd styler as
this can lead to early failure of the power cord.
Servicing of double-insulated appliances
Your ghd product is a (class II) double insulated
electrical appliance and should not be connected
to an earth connection.
In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation
are provided instead of grounding. No grounding means is
provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should a means
for grounding be added to the appliance. Servicing a double-
insulated appliance requires extreme care and knowledge
of the system, and should be done only by qualied service
personnel. Replacement parts for a double-insulated appliance
must be identical to the parts they replace.

Operating instructions
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than
the other). As a safety feature, this plug will t in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully in the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied
electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
Appliance Leakage Current Interrupter
If your appliance is equipped with an Appliance Leakage
Current Interrupter (ALCI) protection device that may make the
appliance inoperable under some abnormal conditions (such
as immersion of the appliance). To ensure that the ALCI plug
is functioning correctly the following test can be performed:
1. Plug in your appliance and press the yellow test button
on the plug. This will cause the appliance to stop working.
2. To reset the appliance press the red reset button.
Every time you use your appliance you should check
that the ALCI protection device functions correctly.
If the appliance does not function it must be discarded
or returned to an approved ghd retailer, or you should
contact ghd North America LLC at 877-GHD-ANGEL
(1-877-443-2643) for further instructions.
