If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent or similar qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
When using electric tools, basic safety precautions
should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electrical shock and personal injury.
READ ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Keep children away.
2. Do not touch the nozzle area or melted glue.
3. Keep work area clean. Work environment should be clean, dry
well lit and clear of flammable materials.
4. Guard against electric shock. Prevent body contact with grounded
surfaces like pipes and appliances. Do not use near water.
5. Inspect extension cords.
6. Always use safety glasses.
7. Don’t abuse cord. Never carry the tool by the cord or yank the
cord to disconnect from plug or receptacle.
8. Disconnecti tools when not in use.
9. Avoid accidental glue discharge. Do not touch the glue stick or
trigger except to dispense glue.
10. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this
product to rain or moisture.
11. When not in use, the tool should be stored indoors.
12. Do not pull glue sticks from gun. The feed mechanism may
become damaged or impaired. If you desire to change types of
glue, cut off protruding end and feed the remainder through with
the new type of glue.
13. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended
to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit
fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a
qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug in any way.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT: Please read carefully before using your
electric glue gun
1. Plug your glue gun into an electrical outlet.
2. To open the fold-away stand, take hold of the flanges on both sides
of the stand and pull forward, until the stand locks into position.
3. Insert standard (1/2” inch or 12mm diameter) glue stick. Two glue
sticks are needed for first time use.
4. Wait 2 minutes for the glue and glue gun to heat up intially.
5. Glue is fed by simply pulling the trigger. Amount of glue is
determined by how far the trigger is pulled.
6. Unplug tool after use if it will not be used within a 30 minute period.
7. Do not attempt to remove unused adhesive from the gun after
use. Any unused adhesive can be stored in the gun, reheated
and used later.
TIPS ON USING
1. The working time of the hot melts can be extended to 50 to 60
seconds by applying the adhesive in large drops (1/2” diameter)
or shortened to less than 10 seconds by extruding the adhesive
in thin lines.
2. Large areas are difficult to bond because the adhesive frequently
will harden before you have extruded the required amount.
3. Preheat surfaces (especially metals) to improve bond strength.
Direct sunlight will accomplish this.
4. The adhesive remaining in an unheated glue gun will
remelt upon heating.
5. Do not use items that will be subjected to temperatures above
140˚ F (60˚ C).
6. Do not use hot melt to hold heavy loads.
7. Some paints and stains can weaken the adhesive. You may need
to paint or stain before gluing.
