BEFORE EACH USE
CHECK FOR LOOSE FASTENERS
Make a thorough visual check of the Chipper Vac
for any bolts and nutswhich may have loosened.
Retighten any loose boltsand nuts.
CHECK SOFT VINYL BOOT
Check the soft vinylboot (on front of hard top) for
wear. Replace ifwornor damaged.
CHECK T1RE PRESSURE
Check tire pressure regularly. Recommended tire
pressure is 12-14 Lbs.
CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL
Check oil level before each use. Maintain engine oil
as instructed in the separate engine manual.
LUBRICATION
At the beginning ofeach season,lubricatethe latch,
latch pivotbolt,and theaxlewhere the hitchtongue
pivots,with a lightmachine oil.
At least once a season,grease or oilthe wheel
bearings. Use automotive wheel bearing type grease
or 20 weight oil.
&WARNING: Always stop engine and
disconnect spark plug wire before clean-
ing, lubricating or before performing any
repairs or maintenance.
ENGINE MAINTENANCE
Check oil level before each use. Maintain engine oil
as instructed in the separate engine manual
Service air cleaner every 25 hours under normal
conditions.Clean everyfew hours under extremely
dustyconditions.Poorengine performanceand
flooding usuallyindicatesthat the air cleanershould
be serviced.To servicetheair cleaner, refer tothe
separate engine manual.
The spark plug shouldbe cleaned and the gap reset
oncea season. Spark plugreplacementis recom-
mended at the start of each season. Check the
enginemanualfor correctplug type and gap specifi-
cations.
CLEANING
Make sure the cart, the side and front panelsandtop
are cleaned aftereachuse. Grass clippingsand
leaves leftinthe cart willmildew and causedamage if
not cleanedout.
Clean the engine regularlywitha clothorbrush. "
Keep the coolingfins on the engine housing cleanto
permitproperair circulationwhichis essentialto
engine performanceand life. Be sure to removeall
dirt and debris from muffler area.
