1. Thechutedeflectoronyourmowermaybe heldinan
uprightpositionbya blockforshippingpurposesonly.
Thisshippingblockmustbe removedanddiscarded
beforethemoweris putintooperation.SeeFigure1.
a. Pullthechutedeflectorup towardsengine.
b. Removetheblockandcarefullylowerthechuteinto
operatingposition,keepingfingersoutoftheway.
2. Performthefollowingsequenceforhandlesetup:
a. Pullupand backon theupperhandletoraisethe
handlefrompositionA intotheoperatingposition
B.SeeFigure2.
b. Makesurethecarriageboltis seatedproperlyin
thehandle.Tightenwingnuts(starknobs)securing
upperhandletothe lowerhandle.
NOTE:Onsomemodelswingnutshavebeenreplaced
withstarknobs.Figuresshowwingnutsonly.
3. If satisfiedwith heightof handle,tightenwingnuts(star
knobs)attheendsofthe lowerhandleshownin Figure
3. Forconvenienceofoperating,youmayadjustthe
handleheightasfollows:
a. Removethewingnuts(starknobs)shownin Figure
3 andremovethelowerhandle.

b. Positioneachhandlebracketstudintothetophole
in thelowerhandle.SeeFigure3 inset.
c. Tightenthewingnuts(starknobs).
