gineered and manufactured to give you the best pos-
sible dependability and performance.
Should you experience any problems you cannot eas-
ily remedy, please contact your nearest SEARS Ser-
vice Center/Department. SEARS has competent,
well trained technicians and the proper tools to ser-
vice or repair this unit.
Please read and retain this manual. The instruc-
tions will enable you to assemble and maintain you
unit properly. Always observe the '_Warnings and
Safety Instructions?'
B. INTRODUCTION
Your unit will edge sidewalks, driveways, and curbs
precisely and neatly.
C. UNPACKIrqG INSTRUCTIONS
1. After removing the contents from the carton,
check the parts against the carton contents list.
2. Examine the parts for damage. Do not use dam-
agaed parts.
3. If a part is missing or damaged, immediately
notify your SEARS store or call our CUSTOMER
ASS-IST, aAZCE HOTLINE at 1-800-235-5878.

E. DOUBLE INSUIATION CONSTRUCTION
This unit is Double Insulated to help protect
against electric shock. Double insulation con-
struction consists of two separate "layers" of electri-
cal insulation instead of grounding.
Tools and appliances built with a double insulation
system are not intended to be grounded. No ground-
ing means is provided on this unit, nor should a
:means of grounding be added to this unit. As a result,
the extension cord used with your unit can be plugged
into any standard 120 volt electrical outlet.
Safety precautions must be observed when op-
erating any electrical tool. The double insulation
system only provides added protection against injury
resulting from an internal electrical insulation fail-
llre.

A WARNING
All electrical repairs to this unit, including
housing, switch, motor, etc., must be diagnosed
and repaired by qualified service personnel. Re-
placement parts for a double insulated
appliance must be identical to the parts they re-
place. A double insulated appliance is marked
with the words "DOUBLE INSULATION" or
"DOUBLE INSUI_TED." The symbol (square
within a square) [] may also be marked on the
appliance. Failure to have the unit repaired by
SEARS service personnel ean cause the double
insulation construction to become ineffectiw
