INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Step 3: Connecting the drain hose
Connect the drain hose in one of the following ways.
In a wall standpipe
1 Attach the drain hose guide to the end of the drain pipe.
2 Place the drain hose into the wall standpipe (no more than seven inches). You
can use a nylon tie (included) to bundle the hoses and the drain pipe together.
In a floor standpipe
1 Attach the drain hose guide to the end of the drain pipe.
CAUTION: Make sure that the connection between the drain hose and the wash
basin, standpipe, or laundry tub is not airtight.
CAUTION: Placing the drain hose too far down the drain pipe can cause a siphoning
action. No more than 7 inch (17.78 cm) of hose should be in the drain pipe. There
must be an air gap around the drain hose. Too snug a fit can also cause a siphoning
action.
Note: The wall standpipe drain requires a minimum diameter standpipe of 1 1/4 in.
(3.18 cm).
