Inspecting the Front Brake
Lever Freeplay
1.
Place your vehicle on its center stand on a
firm, level surface.
2.
Confirm there is a gap between the front
brake arm and No.2 brake arm pin.

If there is no gap, adjust the Brake
Lever/Pedal Freeplay. 2 P. 66
3.
Measure the distance the front brake lever
moves before the brake takes hold.
Freeplay at the tip of the brake lever:
3/8 - 13/16 in (10 - 20 mm)
Check the brake cable for kinks or signs of
wear. If necessary, have it replaced by your
dealer.
Lubricate the brake cable with a commercially
available cable lubricant to prevent premature
wear and corrosion.
Make sure the brake arm, spring and fastener
are in good condition.
