Incorrect belt tension

Loose spindle pulley
or motor pulley.

4. Feeding too slow.

Hard grain in wood or
lengths of cutting
lips and/or angles
not equal.
Wood splinters on 1. No "back-up material"
underside, under workpiece.
Workpiece torn
loose from hand.
Drill Binds in
workpiece.
Excessive drill
runout or wobble.

clamped properly.

REMEDY
1. Adjust tension. See section "Getting To Know
Your Drill Press"...BELT TENSIONING ROD.
2. Lubricate spindle, See "'Lubrication" section.
3. Tighten setscrews in pulleys.

Reshapen drill.
