CONVECT BAKING

I Asa generalrule,whenconvection
baking,set the oven temperature
25° F lowerthan the conventional
recipeor preparedmix directions.
Bakingtimewiltbethesametoa few
minuteslessthandirections.
I Torecallthesettemperatureduringpre-
heatpresstheBAKEpad.
I Tochangeoventemperaturedudngcook-
ing,presstheBAKEpadandtheappro-
pdatenumberpads.
I Allow4-8minutesfortheupperovento
preheat.Allow10-16minutesforthelower
oventopreheat.
I Allowatleast1h-inchbetweenthebak-
ingpanor casseroleandthe topele-
mentin the upperoven.Loaf,angel
foodorbundtpansarenotrecommended
in theupperoven.
I Donotusetemperaturesbelow140° F
tokeepfoodwarmor below200° Ffor
cooking.Forfoodsafetyreasons,lower
temperaturesarenotrecommended.
I The backpartofthe lowerovenbake
elementwillNOTglowredduringbaking.
Thisisnormal.
I Whenbakingfrozen,self-dsepizzasin
the upperoven,placethe pizzaon a
cookiesheettoavoidoverbrowning.

broilwhenbroilinglongercookingfoods
toallowthemtocooktowelldonestage
withoutexcessivebrowning,
I Nevercoverbroilerpaninsertwithalumi-
numfoil.Thispreventsfatfromdraining
tothepanbelow.
I Expectbroiltimestobelongerandbrown-
ingto be slightlylighterifapplianceis
installedon a208voltcircuit.
BROILPAD
Usefor topbrowningor broiling. Forbest
results,usethebroilerpanprovidedwithyour
range.
1. PresstheBROILpad.
2. PresstheAUTOSETpad for HI broil,
pressagain for LO broil,or press the
appropdatenumberpadstoset desired
broiltemperaturebetween 300° and
550° F.
3, Foroptimalbroiling,preheatthreetofour
minutesoruntilthebroilelementisred.
4. Placefoodinovenleavingtheovendoor
opentothefirststopposition(aboutfour
inches).
5. Followbroiling recommendationsin
"CookingMadeSimple"booklet.
6. Whenbroilingiscomplete,pressCAN-
CELpad. Removefoodandbroilerpan
fromoven.
