1. Place the bottom and top distributors into
the resin tank. Be sure the bottom dis-
tributor is centered and all the way to
the bottom of the tank.
2. The top of the riser pipe should be about
even with the top edge of the top distribu-
tor (See Fig. 1).
3. If the riser pipe is too long, make a mark
on the riser pipe where you will cut. use
a hacksaw to cut the riser pipe at your
mark. Be sure to cut square, and to
remove all burrs and sharp edges with a
knife blade or sandpaper. Tip the distribu-
tor upside down and tap lightly against
the floor to remove residue from inside
the riser pipe.
4. Be sure all parts are clean and free of
resin beads or other debris, including the
bottom of the valve assembly. Lightly
lubricate the o-ring sealing surface on the
inside of the port, at the bottom of the
valve.
5. Lubricate the 2 large o-rings and place
them into the top of the tank along with
the top distributor (See Fig. 2).
6. Place the distributor o-ring at the very top
of the riser pipe, where shown in Fig. 2.
Do not slide it down to rest against the
top distributor.
7. Carefully lower the valve assembly onto
the tank, aligning with the riser pipe.
Work it over the o-ring and onto the
adaptor. Then, clamp into place.
Cut riser pipe to correct length: Use the following procedures to assure a non-leaking seal between the riser
pipe and valve assembly. Leakage at this o-ring (see A in Fig. 2) will “bleed” hard water into the soft water.
