OPERATION
REMOVING BLOCKAGES AND CLEANING THE
ROLLER BAR
See Figures 10 - 11, page 9.
Unplug the vacuum.
Place the vacuum in a horizontal position with the dirt
cup facing up.
Remove the six screws securing the brush cover to the
roller bar.
Pull the roller brush up and away from the roller bar.
Clean the inside of the roller bar. Clear any obstructions
with a blunt object.
Clean the roller brush. Use scissors to remove any threads
or hair wrapped around the roller brush.
Reassemble the roller brush and brush cover.
Secure brush cover with screws.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts could create a hazard or cause
product damage.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact
with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken or
destroy plastic which could result in serious personal
injury.
POWER SUPPLY CORD REPLACEMENT
If replacement of the power supply cord is necessary, this
must be done by an authorized service center in order to
avoid a safety hazard.
CLEANING/REPLACING THE FILTERS
See Figures 12 - 15, page 9.
For the pre-motor filter:
฀฀ Unplug the vacuum and remove the dirt cup.
฀฀ Pull the filter frame and pre-motor filter away from the
vacuum using the pull tab.
฀฀Separate the pre-motor filter from the filter frame.
฀฀Clean the pre-motor filter and filter frame with warm soapy
water. Rinse and let dry completely.
NOTE: If the pre-motor filter is damaged, it should be
replaced.
Reinstall pre-motor filter and filter frame.
NOTE: Make sure the filter is seated properly inside the
frame. Installing the filter incorrectly will allow dirt to enter
the motor, causing rapid motor wear.
฀฀฀Replace the dirt cup.
NOTE:
When purchasing a replacement pre-motor filter,
request recommended part number 029516001002.
For the HEPA filter:
Squeeze the latch to release the exhaust cover.
Remove the exhaust cover.
Press down on the tab at the top of the HEPA filter and
remove the filter.
Shake or lightly brush any dust or dirt off the filter.
Reinstall the HEPA filter with the tab facing up.
Place the exhaust cover over the HEPA filter, then snap
it into place.
NOTE:
When purchasing a replacement HEPA filter, request
recommended part number 029516001001.
