20 OPERATION
detergent buildup in clothing, and residue
buildup that can contribute to odors in the
washer.
NOTE
Use extra care when measuring 2X and 3X
concentrated detergents because even a small
amount of extra detergent can lead to problems.
Detergents designated as HE-compatible may
not provide optimal results.
Single-Use Detergent Packs / Gel or
Tablet Detergents
Do not use a full detergent pod in the pedestal
washer. Using too much detergent may cause
oversudsing and unsatisfactory performance.
Reduce detergent amount or add an extra rinse if
detergent residue is left on fabrics. To add an extra
rinse, select the Rinse option.
Adding Detergent and Softener
Using the Dispenser
1 Slide open the drawer.
2 Add the detergent and softener into the
appropriate compartments.
a Liquid detergent compartment
b Liquid fabric softener compartment
NOTE
Do not fill the detergent and fabric softener
dispensers over the maximum fill line. Doing so
can cause them to dispense too early, which can
stain clothing.
Do not use liquid chlorine bleach or powdered
bleach in the pedestal washer. To bleach items,
use the full-size washer and follow the
instructions in the owner's manual included with
that machine.
3 Gently slide the drawer closed before starting
the wash cycle.
NOTE
Less detergent is required for lightly soiled
items. Please use the appropriate amount of
detergent in the Mini Washer. If you use too
much detergent, excessive bubbles will remain
after rinsing.
Do not pour liquid detergent and fabric softener
directly onto the clothes in the wash drum.
Doing so will cause dark staining on the clothes
that will be difficult to remove.
Do not leave the liquid detergent and liquid
fabric softener in the dispenser for more than 1
day. Detergent and softener may harden. Very
thick liquids may not dispense completely. Dilute
detergents or softeners that are too thick so
they flow more easily.
Do not open the drawer when water is being
supplied during the wash.
Do not use solvents such as benzene in the
washer.
