For contouring, hold the trimming
head perpendicular to the skin and

downwards with gentle pressure (Fig.
5).
5 Turn off and clean the product after each
use (see 'Cleaning').
Trimming with guard
Note: When you trim for the first time,
start at a length setting that is longer
than what you are used to, to familiarize
yourself with the product.
Use the beard guard to trim your beard,
stubble and mustache in your preferred
style.
Turn the zoom wheel to choose from length
settings ranging from 5.4mm (7/32 in.) to
10mm (25/64 in.) (Fig. 7). The length settings
are mentioned above the zoom wheel.
1 Make sure the product is turned off.
2 To attach the guard, slide the front part
of the guard onto the teeth of the cutting
unit. Then push down the center of the
guard with your fingers or the palm of
your hand ('click') (Fig. 6).
3 Turn the zoom wheel to select the
desired length setting.
4 Turn on the product.
5 To trim most effectively, move the
product against the hair growth direction.
Make sure that the surface of the guard
always stays in contact with the skin (Fig.
8).
Since all hairs do not grow in the same
direction, you may want to try different
trimming directions (i.e. upwards,
downwards, or across). Practice is best
for optimum results.
6 Regularly remove cut hair from the guard.
If a lot of hair has accumulated in the
guard, remove it from the product and
blow and/or shake out the hairs. The
selected hair length setting does not
change when the guard is removed.
7 Turn off and clean the product after each
use (see 'Cleaning').
