IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock and/or injury to persons, including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
BLADES ARE SHARP. HANDLE CAREFULLY. STORE OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
1. The appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabi-
lities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instructions concerning use of
the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
2. Close supervision is necessary when an appliance is used by or near children.
3. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
4. Unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning or removing contents
from the jug.
5. Never put hands into the jug or handle the blades with appliance plugged in.
6. To protect against fire, electric shock and injuries to persons, do not place cord, plug, or base unit in water or other
liquids.
7. To reduce the risk of injury, never place any blade assembly on the base unit unless assembled to the jug or bottle.
8. The use of attachments, including canning or ordinary jars, not recommended or sold by Braun may cause fire, electri-
cal shock, or risk of injury to persons.
9. Regularly inspect the power cord, power plug and actual appliance for any damage. Do not operate if damaged in any
way or after the appliance malfunctions. Return the appliance to the nearest authorized Braun service center for exa-
mination, repair or adjustment.
10. Avoid any contact with blades or moveable parts.
11. Do not use outdoors or for anything other than its intended purpose.
12. Do not use the blender for anything other than food and/or beverage preparation. Misuse may cause injury.
13. Never leave your blender unattended while it is running.
14. Keep hands and utensils out of the jug while blending to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the
blender itself. A rubber or plastic spatula may be used, but must be used only when the blender is turned OFF.
15. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surface.
16. Flashing light indicates ready to operate. Avoid inadvertent contact with the touch screen or start/stop button.
17. Do not operate without the lid in place. Remain the measuring cap in place when blending hot liquids.
18. Do not blend hot liquids or carbonated food in the Smoothie2Go attachment.
19. We suggest you save all packing materials in the event that future shipping of the machine is needed. Keep all plastic
bags away from children.
20. Tamper provided must be used only when the main part of the lid is in place.
21. Never attempt to operate without the centering pad.
22. Be careful when blending hot liquids in the jug using the manual mode. Start blending on speed 1 to avoid possible burns
due to escaping steam and splashes. The maximum allowed amount of hot liquid ingredients in the jug is 6 cups / 48 fl oz.
23. Do not insert hot ingredients (warmer than 25 °C / 75 °F) when using the hot soup function, i.e. the program soup with
texture smooth.
24. The coupling seat may be hot after running – do not touch.
25. Maximum rating is based on the jug that draws the greatest power and other recommended attachments may draw
significantly less power.
