entireoveninterior.
Itisnormalforexcessiveflare-ups,smoking
and flamingto occurduringcleaningif the
ovenisheavilysoiled.Itisbeftertocleanthe
ovenreguladyratherthentowaituntilthere
isa heavybuild-upofsoilintheoven.
Dunngthe cleaningprocess,thekitchen
shouldbe wellventilatedto helpeliminate
normalodorsassociatedwithcleaning.
BEFORESELF-CLEANING
Turnofftheovenlightbeforecleaningasthe
lightmaybumoutduringthecleancycle.
Removebroilerpan,all pansandtheoven
racksfromtheoven. Theovenrackswill
discolorandmaynotslideeasilyaftera
self-cleancycle.
Cleanovenframe,doorframe(areaoutside
thedoorgasket)andaroundtheopeningin
thedoorgasketwitha nonabrasivecleaning
agentsuchas BonAmi*or detergentand
water.Theseareasarenotexposedtoclean-

Wipeupexcessgreaseorspilloverefromthe
ovenbottomto preventexcessivesmoking,
flare-upsorflamingduringthecleancycle.For
easeofcleaning,theheatingelementcanbe
liftedslightly(1inch).
Wipeupsugaryandacidspitleverssuchas
sweetpotatoes,tomatoormilk-basedsauces.
Porcelainenamelis acid resistant,notacid
proof.Theporcelainfinishmay discolorit
acidicspills arenotwipedupprlertoa self-
cleancycle.
DURINGCLEANCYCLE
WhentheLOCKindicatorlightsinthedisplay,
thedoorcannotbeopened.Topreventdamage
todoor,donotforcedooropenwhentheLOCK 4.

Somesmokeandodormayhedetoctedthefirst
few timestheovenis cleaned.This isnormal
andwilllessenintime.Smokemayalsooccurif

AFTER SELF-CLEANING
Aboutone houraftertheendof theclean
cycle,theLOCKindicatorlight willturnoff.
Atthispoint,thedoorcanbeopened.
Somesoilmayleavea lightgrey,powderyash
whichcanberemovedwithadampcloth.Ifsoil
remains,itindicatesthatthecleancyclewas
notlongenough.Thesoilwillberemoveddur-
ingthenextcleancycle.
Iftheovenrackswereleftintheovenanddo
notslidesmoothlyafteracleancycle,wiperacks
and embossedrack supportswitha small
amountofvegetableoiltorestoreeaseofmove-
ment.
Awhitediscolorationmayappearafterclean-
ingifacidicorsugaryfoodswerenotwipedup
beforethecleancycle.Thisdiscolorationisnor-
malandwillNOTaffectperformance.
Finelinesmayappearintheporcelainresulting
fromtheheatingandcoolingofthefinish.This
isnormalandwillnotaffectperformance.
