Check Belt Tightness
Hold the Rear-Facing Belt

hand. Push and pull the car
seat from side to side.
It should not move more than
1 in. (2.5 cm).

rolled towel(s) or foam
pool noodle(s) under
the front of the car seat
base to help make the
Rear-Facing Level
Line
parallel with the
ground.
Check often to make
sure padding is still in
place and the belt is
tight.
If the car seat
moves more than 1 in.
(2.5 cm), you can try:
Pulling the belt
tighter; OR
Reinstalling the car
seat; OR
Changing to a
different seating
location; OR
Switching to a
different install
method (LATCH or
vehicle belt).

Adjust Footrest
Use one of the 3 Rear-Facing footrest positions to put
the footrest as ush against the vehicle seat as possible.
The footrest does not need to touch the back of the
vehicle seat; there can be a small gap.
