1. Tips for obtaining the best brew:
Always use fresh high-quality coee, preferably ground right before
brewing.
Use “espresso grind” coee for pump espresso machines which is nely
ground with a similar texture to ne sugar.
Store your coee in a dark, airtight container and leave it in a cool place
(cabinet or pantry). Do not store coee in the refrigerator. Only store
unopened bags of whole coee beans in the freezer and defrost before
grinding.
Always brew espresso into a pre-warmed cup. This can be done by leaving
the cup on the warming platform or running hot water into the cup before
brewing.
Always purge the brew head and frothing wand to ensure hottest
performance. See chapter 4.
For best avor, drink the espresso immediately after it is made.
Follow all cleaning, maintenance and decalcifying instructions.
2. Control Panel
a. The “ON/OFF” button on the front of the machine turns the machine on and o.
When the “ON/OFF” button is pressed, the machine will turn “ON” and the
indicator light around the “ON/OFF” button will illuminate red while the “Coee/
Steam” indicator will ash blue, signifying that the machine is warming up the
boiler.
b. The Coee/Steam button on the front of the machine switches the function from
coee brewing to steaming/frothing. When the machine is turned ON, the Coee/
Steam indicator light will ash blue while the machine is heating up. Once the
indicator light stops ashing and is solid blue, the machine is ready for brewing
coee. To switch the machine to steam, press the Coee/Steam button again and
the indicator light will turn white and start ashing. Once the indicator light is solid
white, the machine is ready for frothing/steaming milk.
c. The SELECTOR DIAL has three positions:
LEFT ( ) brewing coee,
CENTER ( ) standby, brewing and steaming stops,
RIGHT ( ) steam production through the frothing wand
NOTE: Do not turn the selector dial to steam when the coee indicator light is
illuminated in blue. Do not turn the selector dial to coee when in the steam
indicator light is illuminated in white.
