6.4 RS-232 Communication Port Denition

Notes:

• The USB, RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces cannot be used simultaneously. Only one interface (USB, RS-232, or RS-485) may be

used at a time. Using any of these interfaces does not interfere with the use of the WEBCARDLXMINI.

• These three communication ports use a MODBUS protocol. Refer to the S3M10-20kVA 3-Phase MODBUS Owner’s Manual.

The RS-232 port is a female connector.

Connection Between the Connected Computer’s RS-232 Port and UPS System’s RS-232 Port

Pin 2 Pin 2 UPS send, PC receive

Pin 3 Pin 3 PC send, UPS receive

Pin 5 Pin 5 Ground

Available Functions of the RS-232 Port

• Monitor UPS power status

• Monitor UPS alarm data

• Monitor UPS run parameters

• Timing o/on setting

• One-to-one communication, UPS to computer, at a distance less than 5 m

RS-232 communication data format

• Baud rate: 9600 bps

• Byte length: 8 bit

• End bit: 1 bit

• Parity check: None

6.5 RS-485 Communication Port Denition

Notes:

• The USB, RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces cannot be used simultaneously. Only one interface can be used at a time.

• These three communication ports use a MODBUS protocol. Refer to the S3M25-100kVA 3-Phase MODBUS Owner’s Manual.

• This port may also be used with an external battery thermostat. Refer to section 6.6 BAT_T Communication Port Denition.

The RS-485 Port is a female connector.
