AIR FILTER

dirtyair filter. Replacepre-cleanerafter
every25 hoursof operationor every
season. Servicepapercartridgeevery
100hoursofoperationor everyseason,
whicheveroccursfirst.

1. Pullup on air filtercoverhandleand
rotatetowardsengine.
2. Removecover.
3. Carefullyremoveair filtercartridgeand
pre-cleanerfrombase.
4. Cleanbasecarefullyto preventdebris
fromfallingintocarburetor.
NOTE:Ifverydirtyor damaged,replace
cartridge.
5. Placenewpre-cleanerand cartridge
firmlyin base.
6. Aligntabson coverwithslots in blower
housingand replacecover.
7. Hookhandleon coverandpushdown
on handleto close.
IMPORTANT:Petroleumsolvents,such
askerosene,arenotto be usedto clean
thecartridge. Theymaycausedeterio-
rationofthecartridge. Do notoilcar-
tridge. Donotuse pressurizedairto clean
cartridge.

CLEAN AIR SCREEN
Air screen must be kept free of dirt and
chaff to prevent engine damage from
overheating. Clean with a wire brush or
compressed air to remove dirt and stub-
born dried gum fibers.
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM
Debris may clog the engine's air cool-
ing system. Remove blower housing and
clean area shown to prevent overheating
and engine damage.

MUFFLER
Inspect and replace corroded muffler and
spark arrester (if equipped) as it could cre-
ate a fire hazard and/or damage.
SPARK PLUG(S)
Replace spark plug(s) at the beginning
of each mowing season or after every
100 hours of operation, whichever occurs
first. Spark plug type and gap setting are
shown in "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS"
section of this manual.
