Always turn the surface burners to OFF
before removing cookwaxe.
Carefully watch foods being fried at a high
flame setting.
Foods for frying should be as dry as possible.
Frost on frozen foods or ii/oisttu'e Oil fFesh
foods can cause hot fat to bubble up and over
the sides of the pan.
Use the least possible amount of fat for
effective shallow or deep fat frying. Filling
tile pan too full of fat can cause sl)illovers
when tood is added.
Use a deep fat thermometer whenever
possible to i)revent overheating tat bevond
the sn/oking point.
Never try to move a pml of hot fat, especially
a deep tat fl'yer. X_'ait until the tat is cool.
When using glass cookwaxe, inake sure it is
designed for cooktop cooking.
If a combination of oils or fats will be used
in frying, stir together befln'e heating or as
tats melt slowly.
Do not leave m_y items on the cooktop. Tile
hot air fl'om tile vent tuay ignite flatmnable
itetus and will increase pressure in closed
coi_tainers, which mav cause them to burst.
Use proper pml size--awfid pans that are
unstable or easily tipped. Select cookware
having fiat bottoms large enough to prol)erly
contain food and avoid boilovers and
spillovers and large enough to cover burner
grate. This will both save cleaning tilne and
l)revent hazardous accunmlatioi_s of tood,
since heavy spattering or spillovers lett on tile
cooktop can iglfite. Use pans with handles
that can be easily grasped and renmin cool.
Keep all plastics away from the top burners.
Do not leave plastic items on the cooktop--
they nlav iuelt if left too close to tile vent.
To avoid the possibility of a burn, alwax:s be
certain that tile controls fl)r all burners are at
the OFF position and all grates are cool
beflwe attenq)ting to relnove theln.
When flaming foods under the hood, turn
the fan on.
Grease is flammable. I,et hot grease cool
1)etore atten_i)ting to handle it. Avoid letting
grease deposits collect in tile grill or the
griddle drip trays. (_lean these areas atter
each rise.
For proper fighting mad performance of the
cooktop burners, keep the burner ports
clean. It mav be necessary to clean these
when there is a boilover or when tile burner
does not light, even though the electronic
ignitors click.
After cleaning, it is important to make sure
the cap and burner port are properly aligned
with the burner base. Incorrect alignlnelat
will produce poor burner l)erfl)rn/ance.
Never operate tile burner without all burner
parts in place.
Clean the cooktop with caution. Avoid stealn
burns; do not use a wet sponge or cloth
to clean the cooktop while it is hot. Solne
cleaners produce noxious flunes if applied
to a hot surthce. Follow iualmfi_cturer's
directions.
Do not use the grill for cooking excessively fatty
meats or products which promote flaze-up.
If cooktop is located near a window, do not
hang long curtains that could blow over tile
surtace burners and create a fire hazard.
Be sure all the cooktop controls axe turned
off and the appliance is cool before using
any type of aerosol cleaner or cooking spray
on or around tile al)l)liance. Tile chenlical
that produces the spraying action could, in
the presence of heat, ignite or cause inetal
parts to corrode.
